Great place for breakfast in the village.. Great friendly staff and good greasy spoon type breakfast. Get there early on the weekends or be prepared to wait for a table.

Fit for Sabonis. All I need to say is wahhhhhhhhhhhh! I had the farmer's sizzle and it was the bomb dizzle. Arvydas Sabonis himself would approve of everything about this place. It made my pants smaller... And not around the waist if you know what I'm talking about.

Couldn't get over how filthy it was.. I really wanted to like this place. It was written about in Portland Magazine so we made a special trip. The only positive I can say is that the waiters were so very nice. Other than that... not good. The place is filthy, top to bottom. Cobwebs hanging over your head, dust on everything. Can't imagine what the kitchen looks like. And the food just wasn't that great. If you're looking for "greasy spoon" food (and don't mind dirt) then this might be your spot. If that's not your thing and you're still looking for a good old fashioned breakfast try Nancy's Kitchen on Glisan (between the Pearl and 23rd). Food is better (great biscuits) and at the very least, it's clean.

Kind of overpriced diner food. The food is typical diner food. Nothing special, kind of disappointing for what they charge. The decor is really cool and it feels like a little slice of historic Portland in the trendy Multnomah Village. The service has been consistently average, sometimes forgetting things but they try. This place is always packed on the weekends and I'm still trying to figure out why...

DELICOUS. The food here is superb...great cure of a hangover....just before heading up to the mountain for snowboarding. I have only had the breakfast. I had an omelet. It gets VERY packed here all the time. Your best bet is to go early if you don't want to wait for tables to clear. The decorations inside are very interesting too look at. The place has some history for sure. Very small town feel to it....it is in Multnomah Village I suppose. Prices are what you would expect from a small town cafe. Good service. Nice people. All around I like it!

Love it!. This place is funky and fun. The food is abundant and regulars abound. Hash browns, biscuits, biscuits and gravy, and giant well priced breakfasts. We always have fun when we go to Fat City. Lunches are good, too...I love the BLT.

Gross!. I can't believe people eat here. First of all, the restaurant was filthy, looked like the carpet had not been vacuumed in years. Then the server handed us our silverware holding the spoon and fork ends that you eat off of. My coffee mug looked like it got run over by a bus. I suppose I'm just being picky now. But honestly, the food was really mediocre, greasy spoon type of food and I will never go back because there is nothing less appetizing than a dirty restaurant.

Service with a frown. We live near Multnomah Village and used to be regulars at this cafe. It is colorful with quite a collection of vintage signs, license plates of various states, and other curios lining the walls. It is also tiny and feels cramped during peak times, but the breakfast food is good, plentiful and reasonably priced. What turned us off was the wait staff. The last straw in a series of unpleasant experiences was when the hostess seated us at a table, which was damp from being wiped down but still had chunks of food on it. When we politely asked the waitress to wipe it again, she snapped at us for sitting down before she got to clean the table! We know the place is busy, especially on weekend mornings, so the staff may feel overworked...but the way to stay busy is to treat your customers like you value them and want them to come back. We now go to Village Inn, where the food is decent and the service is always swift and friendly.

Alright burger, fries, and gravy. Poor hashbrowns and pancakes. Cold biscuits.. I ate here twice, had the burger and fries the first time. Was very disappointed the second time when I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak breakfast. The gravy was very good, no problem with the eggs, the chicken fried steak was alright, the hash browns were crisp on one side but otherwise undercooked and very greasy, the pancakes were below Denny's quality (but they did have real butter), the biscuit might have been good if it was warm.
