horrible experience

by breenieneenie

I have been tanning years now and have never been so dissatisfied with a tanning salon. First of all the front counter is so pushy and rude that they will lie to you to make a sale or make you feel guilty for not buying their overpriced lotions. Secondly, and this is awful, the place is dirty. I noticed a used band-aid in the corner of a room and didn't say anything assuming they would notice and clean it that night. On a visit three months later i noticed the same band-aid! I expect a level of cleanliness that sunsup apparently doesn't expect from it's employees. The final straw for me was when my payment didn't go through properly due to an error on their part and they charged me a fee. No big deal, until i had to wait an hour to see a manager about it, after being told it would be 15 minutes. Then I was told it was my problem and the manager would not even let me close my account! He said he wouldn't let me make such an impulsive decision. All my friends told me not to go to sunsup. I wish I would have listened. DO NOT TAN AT THIS PLACE!!!

Scammers

by ShannO

I went to this place with a coupon good for three tans for $33.00. I paid my $33.00 and then found out that the coupon was good for three tans in one week. Who gets three spray-on tans in one week? A person would look ridiculous with that much spray-on tan in that short amount of time. Nevertheless, I was told that I could give one of my tans to a friend so I decided to tan at the beginning of the week and at the end of the week and give one of the tans to the person who accompanied me. Well, I got my first tan using the color leverl that was recommended for me and was concerned because I barely saw any difference. I expressed my concern to the Sunsup employee and was told that my color would appear in about 4-6 hours. It didn't. I called the next day to complain and was told that I could get a credit for another tan and that I could use it the following week since my busy schedule didn't allow me to get right back in to Sunsup. When my friend and I arrived at the end of the week to use the second and third tan that the coupon promised, well, that's when things went downhill fast. This time, the manager, Harley, was behind the front desk. I inquired as to whether my first tan had been properly credited and he said that the employee who told me that I could use it the next week was new and didn't know what she was talking about. He would absolutely not let me use my credit for the following week. So basically, I received 2 tans for $33.00 instead of the 3 that I'd signed up for. He also let me know that it is up to me, when speaking to an employee, to find out if they are new and if they are knowledgable about company policies. He also informed me that my friend would not be able to share my tan package and that it was "ridiculous" that I even thought it was possible. There was a woman customer taking all of our conversation in and took my side but Harley wouldn't budge. He lost at least 2 customers (perhaps even 3 if that other woman is smart). He could have sold us tan packages and had returning customers. Instead he chose not to accomodate us at any level and was borderline rude. Not a very smart manager in this economy!

just care about making the sale...

by sukkafish777

just cheating customers, all they care about is making sales and gettign more money. they train us like car salesman, we have sales workshops on how to word things to make the sale. they contradict themselves when they say that they care enough to do it right, and good customer service is what they are all about, but they push customers into buying things that, really, they dont even need. yes lotion is good when tanning, but 100 dollar bottle? yess mix up the upgrade beds with the standard, but really why such a steep price? its crazy how everything revloves around the numbers, thats all they look at...they act nice ,and say the right things, but rallly its just to get money, sure they care about tanning, but the actual stupid owner doesnt even know how to tan someone anymore, she doesnt know the prices, asks the employee, and they always complain about how your numbers are bad, and need to sell more. numbers is all sunsup is about....even the 19.88, which sounds like a good deal, is really dumb, because its their "bread and butter" and its guaranteed money for the place...because everyone tht signs up on it forgets that they are continuously paying for taning, wen they dont use it....

id tan there, but ask how often the bulbs will be changed, and remember that you dont have to buy anything from them, and remember that you can freeze your account, and not havr to pay 19.88 for ever...or just dont sign up on the membership, and pay for single tans, that way your not wasting money for nothing

  • Pros: nice looking place
  • Cons: always trying to sell things, bulbs not changed in some locations like they advertise, cheat money litterally
