Not a good experience. I visited this restaurant on Sunday, May 18th as I have numerous times in the past. On this particular day, the food was subpar however. The dressing was dry, and the chicken left more taste to be desired. It did not help that the air conditioner was not working.…
Great food, great value. But no pie.. So we're a couple of displaced Austinites SEVERELY missing the Luby's. JJ North's is a more than acceptable replacement. A Saturday lunch met us with a generous salad buffet (including carrot and raisin, my hubby's fave), hot chicken and fish items both fried and baked, two soups which were both very good, and lots of extras like full coffee and soda choices and iced tea. All for only 7.19. The crowd is mostly retirees, but don't let that stop you, Portland hipsters... we've gotta eat our green beans too (which by the way were fresh and excellent, not overdone as is typical for a buffet). The only weak point is the dessert bar, which was not as high quality as the rest of the food. Pie would put this place over the top.…
