Portland's answer to chain fast food restaurants, this NW institution offers fresh, seasonal, and local food, fast (Paleo eaters can get their burgers bunless). I'm addicted to the sweet potato fries in the fall.

In Short
Primary-colored chairs and tables, chrome-trimmed counters and retro jukeboxes transport diners back to the malt-shop era of the '50s and '60s. Known for using fresh ingredients, this local fast-food chain's signature pepper bacon-Tillamook cheddar cheeseburger is made from local ground round, while the garden burger, low-fat chicken sandwich and halibut fish sandwich are diet-friendly. A limited breakfast menu is also available.
