Old Fashion Burgers and Shakes. If you were hanging out with friends in the fifties, then Jim Dandies will be a blast from the past, or if you had parents who were hanging out in the fifties, as I do, this will remind you of the food dad brought home once in a while, before before the local drive-in burger joint in your town closed while you were in high school or college. The kind of food that was so much better than the slop McDonalds or Burger King sell with the same name. This place is old school to the point it was cool, then not, then cool, then not. The video poker machines hidden in a small room may be new, but not much else is.

The food is exactly what you would expect. Really good bugers, fries, shakes, etc., all made by human hands with love (or perhaps just heartfelt affection). The Royal with pickles and ham is my favorite--top it off with an order of curly fries and a malt, and what more could you ask for. It does make me feel bad that there are so few of these places left while more and more truly awful fast food versions take over the world.
