great little hang out. wnt into Cactus Jacks a couple times with great experiance both times. Once met friends there for happy hour with great deals on fish tacos and saw poster for music. When I came back to check out the music saw a super good band "The Sandy Saunders Band" was great!!, Place seems to have a good "regular" crowd that enjoys the place and the bar tender, I think her name was Annette, she was very good.…
Tolerable food and horrific service.
My husband and I went there for a quick happy hour bite before heading off to a play. I understand that they were busy, but after our food arrived, no waittress ever came back to our table to check
on us. We had to go up to the bar to ask for our check. This... in spite of the fact that she went to tables near us 4 and 5 times in that time period. Sure, we were in a back corner, but this was unacceptable. It's the first time I've ever not tipped someone in my life (we're usually 20% tippers).
On top of it, there were people smoking right outside the front door despite Oregon State Law requiring ten feet between the entrance and people smoking. You had to walk through a wall of smoke to get into a restaurant.…
Best food in Portland! And they serve drinks!. I took my family here to celebrate my 50th birthday and I have to say I have found a diamond in the rough. Amazing service, wonderful food and delicious cocktails. The kids loved the tex-mex fusion menu and the cheeseburger was truly delightful. If you're just stopping by to watch the game or planning a family get-together, Cactus Jack's is truly the best choice. I had thought service with a smile was a thing of the past until I ate at this top-quality family-friendly establishment.…
Good food, Great service. My husband and I have been going to cactus jacks for several years, originally giving it a try because it used to be in the Entertainment Book (it no longer is), and it was close to home. The food is good, not gourmet by any means, but a good spot to have an inexpensive meal and a couple of drinks with friends. The burritos are consistently good, and they have fantastic nachos. While we have had an occasional server that seemed less than attentive or enthusiastic (like at almost any restaurant), the long time wait staff (especially the wonderful Cindy!) are helpful, hard working, and entertaining. As an added bonus, they have already banned smoking inside the restaurant and bar. There is a group of regulars here for a good reason. Give this place, the burritos, and Cindy a try at least once.…
