Tips for Cactus Jacks's Tex-Mex Cafe

Extremely friendly. We celebrated a birthday last night at Cactus Jack's, party of 6 adults, 2 small children. Only 2 of us had been there before so we didn't know what to expect. The ambiance is very bar/tavern but with a separate dining area with train table, computer games, crayons and toys for the kids. Food was good, kids ate free because it was Sunday (then were completely entertained with the kids area), super-friendly staff, birthday tequila shot & ice cream sundae for the birthday boy (over 21) and 2 big screen TV's. Fun, relaxing place once in a while and great for kids. Very small though. We'll go again.

Friendly service, a happy bar with personality.. Cactus Jack's has a real "cheers" feeling to it--a sense of happy community folk, relaxing, drinking, gossiping. Some nights are party-ish, crowded with karaoke and noise; others are calmer, with friendly faces and nice, sometimes quirky staff. The food is great, the service depends on how busy they are, but is always polite and hard-working.

Poor Service, Bad Food, Smokefilled. Since this is one of the few places open later in the evening, I found myself stopping here, unfortunately. Service was HORRIBLE, and when the food came it was awful, the french fries were uneatable, nothing but grease soaked potatoe sticks, the taquitos were like rubber, and this from their "supposed" happy hour menu. Don't waste your time or your money.

good drinks, bad service. Cactus Jack's is less than a mile from my house making it easy to grab some Mexican food. Being a regular does not mean that you will get treated well. Each time I would go back expecting it to be better, but I was disapointed. I think the cheap happy hour was what kept me going back, but they have changed that (being the only good thing). My family and I have now put a ban on Cactus Jack's. Who needs overpriced Tex Mex with a side of bad service? Not me- not you.

They're back!. I'm so please that Cactus Jack's went back to offering half their space as a Cafe (families welcome and no smoking!). We went back last week and it is even better food then a year ago. We will return again and again, the food is delicious and so inexpensive. 2 for 1 dinners on Sunday!!
