Although the food was good, the customer service is awful. Getting refills on drinks was impossible and our waitress Mimi seemed to be annoyed to even take our order. When dinner was done we used our Visa debit card as means of payment and they ended up charging us twice. we battled this resturant for a week to refund us what was overcharged. After several attempts this issue was left unresolved do to the owners lack of english speaking skills and general lack of care at all about customer service. I wish I could say I had the same experience as everyone else that has commited on this resturant, but im almost baffled that were all reffering to the same place. I would say consumer beware and if your waitress name is Mimi run the other way, and whatever you do DO NOT USE YOUR CARD!
Wong's Garden - my favorite restaurant.
I lived in Oregon from 1990 to 2001 and one of the biggest things I miss about it is WONG'S GARDEN!
My favorite dish was the sweet and sour chicken (it's unique and I've never had better!) and so I was worried that I would try something new and not like it. But, since I branched out to try other things, they were all just as amazing! Even the little things like the soups and almond cookies they sell at the register are sooo good.
I have yet to find an asian restaurant where the food is so consistently delicious!
I can't wait to get back into town before they close (god forbid) so I can once again taste that incredible sweet and sour chicken, which despite the other great food, remained my FAVORITE dish there.
What A Gem, Wong's Garden..
I have been visiting many local Chinese and Italian restaurants in Portland and many metropolitan areas in the country. I was very surprised by the high quality food and taste as well as its nice setting of Wong's Garden located in Milwaukee, OR (a small shopping center).
The appetizers were delicious and abundant quantity with very inexpensive prices. The food selection is plenty and the quality and quantity of the entrees are amazingly wonderful.
What a gem for local consumers!!!
The success of some restaurants certainly brings frequent visitors who blackmail the owners for refunds and free food or post nasty review to destroy their hard-earned reputation.
Good Chinese food for non-Chinese People.
Everyone and even the handful of real Chinese people love Wongs in Milwaukie. As I found dining tonight it is good all around the clock. For lunch, get the lunch special. Soup, giant egg roll, fried wonton, fried rice and entree for only $5. Theres no way you can finish it either. For dinner go with a friend, order Beef Chow Fun and anything else. YOu can pig out and still have leftovers. Dinner for two with lots of leftovers $15! The chow mein is the crunchy kind so order hong kong style if thats what you're used to. I can't wait to eat my leftovers tomorrow.
