Editorial Review for Round Table Pizza – by Jennifer Olvera
In Short
The first Round Table Pizza opened in Menlo Park, Calif. in 1959. Today, the chain boasts more than 500 restaurants internationally and is recognized for its made-from-scratch dough, mozzarella, provolone and cheddar blend and gourmet toppings like fire-roasted Roma tomatoes, creamy garlic sauce and salami. Pizzas are available in pan and "skinny" (aka, super-thin) varieties. The menu also offers up turkey, ham and chicken club sandwiches, bread sticks and salads.

If you have young kids this is so the place to go. The pizza is run of the mill meaning it's not bad but not something you would flip your lid over, but it's definitely satisfying, filling and tasty enough. But the best attribute, at least on the two days we went, was the lack of a crowd. Ok, that may tell you something but we happened to go mid-week so I think that is partially why it wasn't packed. Our 3 y.o. had lots of room to explore and some video games to "play". He was entertained, even made a new friend and mom and dad got some downtime. Unlike many kid-friendly restaurants that accommodate the noise of kids but don't have room for kids to move around, Round Table has room to roam in a safe, comfortable environment without bothering other patrons. Oh and their wine carafes are cheap ;-)

Fifteen years ago, I thought there pizza was quite good. Ten years ago, I thought they were fairly good. Five years ago, I thought they were so so. Last week, it was bad. I think the box it came in, probably tasted the same. What gives. It's gone from one of the better pizza's, to the worst, at the same time, it's has become the most expensive pizza around. I now go to Costco, for much better pizza, at half the price, and twice as much. Costco is not my first choice, either. Last weeks Round Table pizza, told me to never go there again.
Pros: Lots of empty seats., No wait, at all., Some eat anything.
Cons: Most expensive pizza, Worst tasting pizza., Bad parking
