Very Disappointing. We decided to endulge in a little...ok a lot...of chinese food one Saturday hung over evening and came away very disheartened. The food taste like the first juice on a new born calf. I would strongly urge you to stay away from the brocoli and beef. This eater is not real up to date on health code, but the contents in our to go order seemed to be five days old.

All in all, this is not a place we will return. I would stay away.  View Less

Could be a lot better.. I have been here many times, since the 1960's. It's not a classical Chinese restaurant, but it's OK. Never order the fried shrimp. I don't know how they can get so much old grease into such a small shrimp, and cook it to death. I feel they were yesterdays cooked shrimp, re-warmed up in two week old oil, and I dare you to find the actual shrimp, in all that greasy cornstarch. The shrimp here has always been this way. Other items on their menu are from good to very good, such as Chow Mein, and Chow Don. My wife is Chinese, and she will never set foot in this place, but I like it. I don't like the food you get in China. It's disgusting, what the food is like in China. Some people can take it, but I can't. I'm glad for places like the Hi Hat.  View Less View More

Not so good. The service was slow and the food wasn't that great. I've been here a few times (take-out and eating at the restaurant) and the quality was very inconsistent.  View Less View More

the same, same same. been goin there for years, always exactly the same. other than a small remodel in the entry 5 years ago, its exactly the same as 15 years ago. somthing you can always count on! food is your typical subgum chow mein, etc. nothing flashy but well worth it.  View Less View More

Still a great place. The Hi Hat has come along way since 1954. The food is very true to the way MR. Louie wanted it to be. They family still runs the resturant. It was the Sister to the HOUSE OF LOUIE in china town. I love the HI HAT's HOUSE CHOW MEIN its the best. You will find Calvin seating you, Melvin cooking your dinner, Mary getting you the hot plates, Gretta(best waitress you will ever find) Telling the stories of the past, & Beverly helping at the front desk that the family is still making sure that nothing goes overlooked. The Louie family has been a part of the city for over 50 years. Now can you find any other place with that much to offer. Go check it out I am very sure you will find that Tigards HI HAT is the Best tigard has to offer and so much more...  View Less View More
