I started going to Cafe Allegro when I was 10 years old in 1990 to 1998 every friday as a family.... but once Steve quit managing that store the quality of the food went down BIG TIME!!! Steve was so particular with how the food was supposed to taste!! I never once did not like my plate..I got the same dish every time (Chicken Artichoke), so I know how that pasta is supposed to taste... it is now bland and boring!! On april 1, 2006 I decided to give Cafe Allegro another chance. That night I was leaving Oregon and moving to Texas. So I really wanted to have Cafe Allegro my last meal since that place was such a big part of my life for so long....but... unfortunately... I didn't get what I hoped for.. my meal was worse than it had been ever since..sauce had too much water, noodles overcooked, no seasoning, hardly any artichoke, chicken was gross. A big disappointment!!! I loved that place so much.. and now, I just could not imagine ever eating there again!! . its very sad... I held every friday there, every birthday there and every special occasion there.. it used to be so good.. Now, not so much!!! Oh and I cant forget to write this... how many places do you go nowadays that dont give you free refills on sodas?? Not sure if they give free refills now , but even in 2006 they still did not give refills and their glasses are so small!! Not being picky.. but being honest... l (I will say this though... Their BREAD IS STILL AMAZING!!!!! thats the only reason why I gave them a 2 star!!)

The food at Cafe Allegro is terrible. You can do better Italian from a can of Chef Boyardee. (Beware of online reviewers pumping this place and do not be lured in.) Our dinner was remarkably tasteless, served luke-warm, and bearing no resemblance to the dish's namesake. Service was mediocre, as though the waitstaff shared our desire to be somewhere else. Our table was in a hallway.... No, we didn't ask to be re-seated or to have them take the food back, just wanted out. Hopefully this unsolicited review will spare others a similar experience.
Pros: parking
Cons: food, service, entire dining experience
