Tips for LaRog Jewelers

August 28, 2012

Went to westside LaRog jewelers. Sales person was not only rude, didn't introduce himself, but also could not provide accurate information. Wanted to give me less than 1/4 of what my diamond was worth and only $100 for gold band that was at least 10 grams! Don't go there - they'll rip you off!

Gold sellers beware. I took a ring there and they offered me $230. Took the ring to another place and got $385. Shop around.

current ads on radio a SCAM. Bait and switch all the way. They WILL NOT match nor beat any web site like their ad says. I tried 3 times no luck. Poorly trained and no customer service skills at all! I had to walk out. Buyer beware

I can not express how upset I am about my experience at Larog. Myself, my future sister in law, and my mother were shopping around different jewelers in the area. I was looking for an engagement ring and my sister in law was looking for a wedding band. We were beeped into Larog (for security purposes you have to be buzzed in) and started looking at their selection. I was extremely impressed with the variety and quality of rings. We made a round around the cases and decided what we wanted to try on. At this point it had been 10 minutes and no one had acknowledged us: no hello, no we will be right with you, no nothing. We made a second round around the counters showing each other what we wanted to try on. Still no one said anything. I tried making eye contact with multiple sales associates walking by, they wouldn't even look at me. I stood over by the main counter that I had seen multiple people walking back and forth between to try and get someone's attention. A gentlemen walked in the door, and a sales associate walked directly passed me and asked "how can I help you sir?" I was dumbfounded, and at this point my mother went up to ask if someone could help us. When another gentlemen walked out to help the customer who just walked in, my mother politely said, "excuse me could anyone help us next?" To which the sales associate replied, "I need to help him and then someone else will be right with you." My mother calmly explained the fact that he had just walked in and we had been waiting for 20 minutes. He then said rudely, "we will do our best to run around the entire store to everyone, but we are busy." I then across the store told him that it was not necessary for them to run around, that just someone acknowledging us would be nice. At this point everyone in the store was looking at us. He proceeded to tell the gentlemen that he could not help him because he had to help us first, as we were demanding attention (exact words). At this point it was over. I let him know that it would be unnecessary, as we would take our business elsewhere. There were plenty of rings we wanted to try on, and I good likelihood we would have bought both our rings from their store given their selection. If you had heard the way he had spoken to my mother, there is no way you would have spent another minute inside that store. The sales associate who I did not catch his name but had gray hair and an accent not only embarrassed himself but the business he works for. There were 3 sales associates helping 3 men buying charms for a charm bracelet. There were also numerous amounts of other sales associates that continually walked passed us. I will never go back to Larog, nor will anyone else I speak to in the Portland area. They not only lost out on immediate sale of $10,000 just for myself, but my sister in laws ring purchase and any of my many friends in the area. We have been to at least 5 stores in the area, and this is the last place I would go to when shopping for jewelry in the Tigard area.

Great Place to Sell Gold. With all of the sleazy gold buying infomercials and online ads out there, I was a little reluctant to sell some of my old gold jewelry. A friend of mine told me she ended up selling some of her gold jewelry at LaRog Brothers and said it was an easy, pain-free experience. I gave it a try and it gave me a whole new prospective on selling gold. The salesperson was extremely polite and helpful. I was in and out of there in a flash, and I got way more than I expected. I’d definitely recommend selling your gold at LaRog Brothers.

Gold Buyer's Best Friend. I recently spent a few days gold panning in SW Oregon. Brought back some nice color.

Went to several of the "we buy gold" places, including the mall locations.

Have to give these LaRog folks the tip of the hat - they paid me $300 more for my pickers and flakes than the best offer any of the other's made.

I needed to know where to get the best deal, so I shopped around first. Now in the future I'll be going directly to LaRog - without hesitation.

Fantastic Jeweler. I have been a loyal LaRog customer for years and have never been anything but thrilled. Their service is second to none and their quality is far better then anything I have seen at other stores priced comparatively. I have friends who have purchased elsewhere once or twice that have later become loyal La Rog customers because the difference is evident. Jewelery is not something one should purchase online, and the non-pushy service and friendly staff makes shopping for gifts a pleasure.

Exceptional Customer Service. I have shopped at Larog Jewelers for the past 10 years, and no matter what when I walk into their store I am greeted in a timely manner, my questions were always answered, jewerly cleaned/fixed with no issues ..and Dave is always working hard to help my husband and I to find what ever it was that we needed.

Great customer service, prices, selection and they have always went above and beyond for us!

Larog Jewelers is the ONLY place I will shop for my jewerly, I tell all my friends and family to shop there as well.

Why shop anywhere else?
