The service here is horrible. The
salewomen are very rude. And, THEY ARE EXPENSIVE.. You can find the exact same designers and dresses at other boutiques for $50-200 less.
I actually bought my wedding dress there, as well as my veil and flower girl dress about a year and a half ago. We gave them a lot of money... so when my sister was dress shopping for her wedding a year later, we thought we would stop by there. One of the dresses my sister tried on looked very similar to the dress that I had bought a year ago, so I asked who the designer was (to verify that it was designed my the same person as my dress). They became very agitated, and said that they don't give out the designer names --- then when I went over to the dress to take a closer look, they threatened to throw me out! This after I spent over $1,000 dollars there. (And I will tell you that the designer is MORI LEE... they have many of her dresses, which you can find other places for much cheaper - Try The Bridal Arts Building - they have some of the same dresses for much cheaper!). The reason they won't give you the designer is because they know they are overpriced!
They are horrible, rude, and it does not make for a fun bridal experience. Getting married should be fun. These women make dress shopping awful.
Also, they aren't very good at listening.... they ended up pressuring me to order a dress that was too big... which made the alteration costs a nightmare. A rip-off and a half!
The owner of Rosewood Bridal is beyond knowledgeable, every question we asked, plus some we didn't think to, were answered beyond belief. She made our experience memorable and beautiful. I couldn't believe the competitive pricing as well. It is so refreshing to visit a bridal shop that isn't intimidating and dry. Ask for the owner and you will NOT be disappointed!
I got my dress in February 2011 for an
August 2011 wedding.
Summary: Great selection, great variety in design AND size, great prices, and great service!
My mother and best friend had come into town for the dress shopping experience and after a full day of women looking at me like I was evil because 1) I didn't really know what I wanted, 2) had a budget, and 3) I'm a size 16... only to then try to stuff me into the only things I had said I didn't want, we ended up at Rosewood because we didn't need to set an appointment. By the time we got there we were cranky and exhausted, not expecting much from the outside as the place looks so small, but we were very wrong!
Once inside, we were shown around their selection and surprised by how much they had within our budget - and how many samples they had in sizes above 6. They let us browse through and pick however many dresses I wanted to try on, even though that number got pretty large. Jessica was so nice helping me try on the dresses - a rather nerve racking experience - and we thought we'd narrowed it down to a couple top dresses... and then Teresa pulled a dress and said something to extent of, "I know it has more beading then you were thinking, but want to try it on?" So I did. And that was the dress.
When you try on a dress and don't want to take it off... come back the next day to try it on again, and dream about it up to and after you order it, you know it was the right dress.
From there it was easy. It came in surprisingly quickly for a wedding dress (I got lucky and the company happened to be making one in my size at the time). The fittings were fun and they helped me come up with ways to do my hair, etc. Then they held the dress until we were ready to pick it up for the wedding.
I would never have felt so beautiful if it weren't for Jessica and Teresa's help. They made me feel like a bride... and when my husband saw me walking towards him on our wedding day, his best man had to remind him to breathe!
I absolutely have, and will continue to recommend Rosewood!
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.
I was asked to be a bridesmaid-- I was so happy to be a part of such an exciting event! But the sales associate (perhaps the owner?) at Rosewood Bridal ruined it.
The bride chose the store based on the dress-- so she sent the entire wedding party to the same place (out of convenience) for the bridesmaids gowns.
At size 2 and only 6 weeks pregnant, I knew sizing would be difficult for an event several months away. As soon as I told the woman I was pregnant and would have to plan ahead, she fired back with 'you are making my job impossible.' I let it go (out of respect for the bride who sat there, mortified and speechless.)
The woman whined the whole time I was being measured and wasn't shy about constantly letting ALL of us all know how inconvenient my pregnancy was for her job.
At any rate, I bought the $140 dress after being told by the devil herself that it would work.
As the months have passed, I outgrew the dress. I made other arrangements with the bride (bless her heart) to wear something else. My next stop-- returning the dress.
Not only was the sales assoc late opening up at her own business, but as soon as I walked in, I was greeted with sour attitude, and she said "I told you it wouldn't fit." and refused to accept the dress. No negotiations (I was willing to buy my son a suit in exchange).
I felt terrible for another woman working in the store as she appeared to be suffering the ultimate humiliation just for witnessing the treatment.
I have been to several bridal shops in the past-- and all were great experiences. they're supposed to be!
Rosewood Bridal needs a training course on customer service. No one should be treated so poorly. I wouldn't spend another dollar there if I had a gun to my head.
Poor Damage Control. I had excellent customer service by the seamstress and the staff up until something went wrong. The day before I left for my wedding I picked up my dress, brought it home and noticed some major flaws. During the pressing process there was a 1 inch by 2 inch water stain and some damage done to the fabric in another spot. Also the stitching done along the waist in front by the seamstress was all starting to have run in the fabric!! No doubt that was because of the delicate satin fabric, however when you pay over $1000 for something special you expect them to know what they are doing. I immediately called and e-mailed pictures but had to use the dress "as is" because I was leaving. The woman on the phone could not help and told me that Teresa would call me back. After the wedding I called Teresa and barely got anywhere (she insisted I should have brought it in before the wedding- which was impossible because I was leaving), I was offered $50 towards a preservation (which I was not doing) and after much debate, she sent me a check for $25 and an apology card! This didn't even cover the $50 cost of the dress to be pressed in the first place- where much of the damages came from to begin with. I am very disapponted that after a very positive initial experience that Rosewood Bridal would handle damages that they caused so poorly. A $25 check is a joke! That is no way to provide quality customer if you are going to stand behind the work that you do. I am very disappointed at how unprofessionally they handled the situation and how unfair this situation turned out for me- after spending so much money at their store I was stuck with the damaged dress and a full bill (minus $25).
Best service in town!!!. After searching for the perfect dress all over Portland with no results, a friend of mine suggested Rosewood Bridal. For days I had been putting up with rude sales people, unhelpful staff and cold uninviting shops. All of that changed when I stepped into Rosewood. All my uneasy feelings were gone! I was greeted with a friendly and upbeat, "hi how are you?" and was shown around the store personally. They also let me pick out what dresses to try on instead of picking them for me. They made me feel like the most important bride ever! Their dresses are so beautiful and Rosewood has great prices. I would recommend this store to everyone who wants a stress-free and personal experience. They also store your dress for free until the wedding!!
BEST BRIDAL STORE EVER. I went to Rosewood Bridal for my gown and found the experience of shopping at the bridal shop to be one of the best experiences in the whole planning process! I feel like I actually have become friends with the staff. I had no idea what I wanted but they were patient and helped me find the perfect dress! They also special ordered bridesmaid dresses for me and worked with me when I had a bridesmaid dropout and needed a dress altered to fit a smaller girl. They also put up with my crazy family!!! I have since recommended three other brides to go to Rosewood, including family and friends! I do it kind of selfishly just so I have an excuse to go back and visit... not to mention I want all my family and friends to be as happy as as was!
Great shopping expierence.
The women in the shop were so gracious and helpful! no appointments needed, they are willing ready and able to help any bride to be that walks through the door.
Beautiful selection, FANTASTIC prices!! Amy helped me through my entire expierence and I felt very taken care if. I found the dress of my dreams there!!!
Its a little small, but the brides share the mirror and it's actually pretty fun to see all the women in their dresses, all glowing a bit in excitement!!
This is the best place to go!!!
Wedding secondary service. Service was not friendly, young girl taking measurements was inexperienced. The dress I wanted had been in the shop but since it was sold in order to get it I had to order and pay for it with out even being able to try it on. Originally they had stated they could get a trunk dress but a week later that had not been done so I ordered the dress and put 1/2 down. The dress still is not in and the wedding was cancelled. They are stating it was a special order so will not allow a return, yet DAVID's BRIDAL DID allow us to return our bridesmaid dresses that were also ordered. Very disappointed in the overall service and selection.
Best place to go for wedding needs. When I was a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding, we went to numerous dress shops before finally going to Rosewood. The people there were great: not at all pushy. I finally found dresses that fit my body type (bigger in the chest and smaller at the waist). It was such a good experience that, now that I am getting married, I went to Rosewood to get my dress. I like the people in there and appreciate the time they have spent with me. I defiantly recommend this place!
