Portland >Pepper Tree Thai Cuisine
i love this place i've been going there sence was 5
pepper tree rules. to ayablu; Thai cabin costs far more than ptt average plate cost is over 12 to 13 dollars and no better food. Just more of a snob experience is offered so if you like that sort of thing by all means stay away ppt just has good food at a good price with a awesome staff also their papaya salad is great. As far as portions go I've gotten Pad Thai there that could easily feed 2 or 3. So if that isn't enough food for you I strongly suggest you reconsider your excessive eating habits.
Great Food - Great Service!. I recently discovered this place and I love their food! I'd highly recommend it to anyone!
Great food here. My classmates and I make the drive from PCC Rock Creek just for this amazing Thai food. Great service, the owner always remembers our names. The service is great, portion sizes are plenty as well, I always need a to-go box.
JUST DON'T GO HERE WITH JORDAN SLEETH from Advance camera, apparently this is where he takes all the girls he's playing :) Beware of him, but Pepper Tree is awesome!
Tasty Thai Treat!. Excellent from the second I walked in. Extremely friendly and authentic staff. Great tasting food. You can't beat the lunch deals they have to offer. Definitely give it a try if you're in the area or don't mind driving to the Hillsdale area.
Very Good Thai Food. I came and tried Thai food and the husband wife were really nice to us. So we order shrimp for appetizer it was so good that we couldn't stop eating. it is pretty good food.
Terrible Food and Value.
Since moving to Beaverton from Portland 3 years ago I've been on the search for a good Thai restaurant in Beaverton. After trying 8 or so I thought I'd give Pepper Tree Thai a try even though it's not really in Beaverton.
When I try a new Thai restaurant I always order two foundational dishes: Pad Thai and Curry (usually red). If a Thai restaurant can't get these two right they should consider firing the chef (even if it's grandma)! Pepper Tree Thai failed both! The curry was soupy (curry should not be soupy!) and you get a very small portion of, not to mention very dry, rice to go with the curry. If you've ever had curry you know how important rice is. I had to order more rice of course and they charge $1 for the tiny refill bowl (about a cup size). The Pad Thai tasted ordinary (I've made better and cooking is not my forte) and not enough to feed one person. Did I mention that each dish costs at least $9? I've tried many Thai restaurants and this by far was the worst in taste and in value! Don't go to Pepper Tree Thai if you love Thai food. Save your money and taste buds! Try Thai Cabin instead (I found this place a week after and have become a loyal customer!)
The best thai food in portland!.
This is my favorite thai food in portland and I've tried them all. There currys are all really, really good. My favorite is the green curry, my wife loves the beef panang curry. No one makes better tom kah soup and you have to try the green papaya salad. just writing about it makes me want some.
The owners are I always there working. Chances are one of them will be your server. they are one of the nicest couples you will meet.
I never write reviews for anything. this is my first. I like this joint so much that i couldn't let the last review put any one off. I didn't even have a city search account until now. I don't know why the other dude has to be such a hater. Hey buddy this isn't indian food. The curry's coconut milk and its delicious. I will go back again and again.
(pay no attention to the one star reviews. I've a sneaky suspicion it's from the bad thai place across the street. Do look at how many other people besides myself have rated this place at 5 stars)
Worst curry I've ever had.
I used to eat at this place, and liked it. That was a couple of years ago. Last night-3/29/10-we got take out from there. My wife didn't inspect the food, so when she got home we were shocked to find that the container was just a little more than half full. Then it got worse. Poured it on top of some very dry jasmin rice, and found that it had the consistency of soup! Curry should have some thickness to it. It was by far THE worst curry I have ever tasted. The cook probably was in a hurry to go home and clearly didn't care about pushing out a second rate product.
What's worse is when my wife asked me which Thai restaurant to go to, I said it didn't matter, I've never had a bad curry. Last night I did. I'll never eat there again. Enough said.
Make a run for the border!.
Situated in the border between Portland and Beaverton, this little Thai joint is my favorite by far. I must have tried every Thai restaurant in the Portland-metro area and keep coming back to the Pepper Tree.
Number one reason is the food. So authentic and so tasty. Every dish I have had has been good.
Number two reason is the price. You can have an excellent dinner (or lunch) for two without breaking the bank.
Number three reason is the service. The husband/wife team who own this place are very cute and friendly. They clearly want you to have a good dining experience and will do their best to make you happy.
Give it a try and prepare for treat!
