In Short
Portland's oldest continuously operating bar is now part of the McMenamins' empire. As usual, the brewpub barons have retained vintage details while raising the level of funkiness--and cleanliness. The long, narrow space is dominated by an ornate, 19th-century back bar. Flame-like light fixtures and an elaborate tile floor add to the Victorian feel. Mostly young, laid-back people eat pub fare and enjoy local folk and country acts on the low stage.

I love this place! They have really good food, it's tight quarters but totally fun! They also have really good live music, which makes for an enjoyable evening with friends. As busy as it is each time I've been there, I still get exceptional service!

I love this place not only because it is haunted but it is like stepping back in time. They have awesome pub food and strong drinks, just the type of stuff all those old sailors would want when they came in off the docks!
