Love the chicken and green beans for any meal of the day!. This is a made to order dish with a lovely black bean sauce. The green beans are cooked el dente, having just the right crunch. Seriously, I do eat this as ANY meal.

After reading a few of the food reviews ,I think the patrons ordered items that are 'steam tabled'; just like the mentioned Safeway. I would suggest another try at a made to order food item.

As far as the servers 'face' regarding the wine selection, she should have asked you for your selection and then informed the bar staff to include it in the next order.

I would like to know what set off the 'Avoid the Gossip' review, sounds like someone had a bad day. Please don't discount two women based on one comment.

Happy eating!  View Less

Avoid the Gossip. Avoid the gossiping bar-tending staff because they play favorites and treat certain customers with a lack of courtesy and respect. Not a good formula for a successful business. Avoid Kelly and Yvonne. Attractive women can be ugly inside.  View Less View More

Worst Chinese food ever. My husband and I live in the Bethany neighborhood. We decided to try Wan Q for my birthday dinner. I'm not a Chinese food expert but good authentic Chinese is my favorite.

We got to the restaurant and the place was packed so we took a seat in the bar. The waitress was prompt and wonderfully friendly. I asked her about the house white wine and she made a face and shook her head. I ordered a drink instead. I ordered basic dishes to see how they did on the simple stuff. Honestly, We could have saved the money and went to Safeway for Chinese out of the Deli because the food at Wan Q was that bad. I'm pretty sure everything I ordered came out of a can. Everything was sweet, even if it wasn't suppose to be, and nothing had any spice, even if it was suppose to. Even the fried rice was crunchy and cold. I might go back for a drink in the bar at some point, but eating there again is out of the question.  View Less

Very friendly people, but lousy food!. Okay, I don't consider myself a food snob, but I have to say the one time we ate at this restaurant, *nothing* was good. I take that back ... our server was very friendly, and we were seated promptly. After that, everything went downhill. Three of us went, and none of us managed to order anything decent! The fried rice was old and crusty, and you couldn't cut through the sweet & sour pork to save your life. It left such a horrible taste in my mouth that two days later I was still grossed out. Had to go to another Chinese restaurant just to forget! Ordinarily, if I order something at a restaurant and it doesn't turn out well, I'll give it another go. I mean, you can have an "off" night. But each of us ordered a different dish, and all 3 (plus rice) weren't good at all. Overcooked, no flavor ... things that are staples at every Chinese restaurant were just not good at Wan Q, sadly.  View Less View More

Always very good food!. I've dined at this restaurant for 27 years now, and I declare myself an expert regarding their food. Since the new owners have taken over, the food is mostly consistent. The flavor is excellent, the pricing reasonable, and the quality is always very good. Once lately I've had tepid food, but only once in hundreds of dining experiences is a pretty good statement! I highly recommend.  View Less View More
