Consistently Excellent Food.
Rock Creek Corner takes you back in time with its rustic
old west exterior and this theme extends into the restaurant and the bathrooms. Upon entering the tavern portion I am taken back in time again, only a different era as I feel I have stepped into my father's favorite tavern he frequented in the 80's. It is dark, with your traditional neon beer signs, lotto machines, T.V and pool tables. Nothing fancy here! But just wait until the food comes...what ever the tavern lacks in appearance it makes up for with excellent high quality food that will keep you coming back again and again.
Fun/Comfortable/ Happening Atmosphere. Stopped by here on my birthday because we wanted somewhere to hang out and have fun with the girls and are so glad we did! The place was busy until 2am, the staff was fun and nice, Happy Hour drinks were $3 Cant wait to go back and have the food since I only got to experience the bar side of it this time.
Really GOOD Food!.
A buddy of mine suggested I stop at the Rock and she was right! Great Food, really quick service, and the drinks were SUPERB! I stopped in on a weeknight and the place was jumping. I looked into the dinning room and it was full, so asked to eat at the bar. The Menu was like home-cooked food. Fresh, flavorful, and the
Calamari was killer. I also ordered the Greek salad - it was the best! I plan to come back and mingle with the regulars which were like my high-school classmates.
Like "Cheers". As we were passing through Oregon, we stopped for rest and found the best and friendliest Pub just outside west Portland. The decor reminded us of a Family Pub on Vancouver Island, with farm implements and old area pictures on the walls. The menu has been wholesomely created by the Owner-chef Christy after years of neglect by the previous owner. Service was on-time and right. We plan to make a follow-up visit when we return on our way back home in Vancouver BC.
really nice neibourhood gathering spot. near PCC Rock Creek on, bus line. Older crowd in the morning, working class at happy hour (free snackies)-gets younger as the night goes on. Good bartenders all around. Owners on premisses all the time -open to ideas to make us more comfortable and comeing back . PIZZA , Digital Jukebox. I have lived in the area for 5 yrs & been a regular
Waste of Dinng opportunity.
For a Saturday night, the place on the dining room (not bar) was fairly empty. Maybe 5 parties in dining area. The waitress was quick to seat us, any table we wanted, but after that she was slow to return with menus. We flagged down a gentleman (?owner perhaps?) that we wanted to order. Drinks came almost at same time as meal. SLOW SLOW SLOW. And there was no one there!.
When our meals came, the order was wrong. One in our party ordered the Saturday house special - bowl of chili w/ salad and cornbread or something like that, he was served Chili Cheese Fries appetizer? . (And he would never send things back, just made due.) Ordered items forgotten until reminded. Fries - OMG they were salty, and I like salty food.
In all, we all left feeling like this was a waste of a dining opportunity for us. I don't understand the 5 stars. Were we at the same place? Don't bother there are other great places nearby.
Absolutely Amazing.. After being at Rock Creek campus of PCC for three hours, I needed a break. Just down the street is a charming and welcoming place called Rock Creek Corner. Me and my friend were greated and nicely told to sit wherever we wanted. The pretty room with all different kinds of chairs is wonderful and I was instantly comfortable. People were nice and checked on us often but did not over-do-it one bit. I intend on going again soon. Also, the Italian salad and BBQ Ham sandwich are deffinalty worth trying.
Good time, Great Music. Stopped by to hear some live music and WOW saw a great band Sandy Saunders. The place has really taken on an improved image since the new owners took over. Keep up the good work! love the addition of music in the pub!
Friendly Place - Especially if you're new to the area..
The name has been changed to Rock Creek Corner, new owners, Christy and Robert have made many long needed changes. The food is great, especially some of the specials during the week (French Onion Soup, Chili Verde, and Shrimp Pasta). The menu has been updated, one of the pizzas that's worth trying is the Christy Special. A thin crust pizza (often hard to find these days) covered with a white garlic sauce, spinach, shrimp, cheese, and real bacon from the grill, oh yum! If you haven't been there in a while, or if your looking for something new, give it a try.
A couple of quick extras. Credit cards are accepted, and the restaurant side is child friendly, and wheel chair accessible with a little help or some redirection. The bar side is accessible, a great meeting place for friends, or making new friends. The Regulars are extremely friendly, but bring your sense of humor they like to tease everyone. The bantering between the bartenders and customers is often very entertaining, this may include an off color word once in a while, but it's all in good fun.
