Best Tavern in Portland!.
Rebecca was awesome!!!! Great Bartender...she will go far. Fun loving place and very conversational with neighborhood patrons that make the experience a pleasing place to
visit.
Music was wonderful and up to date jukebox that plays everything from a-z. Absolutely
loved the place and would recommend that they move to Denver in the neighborhood that
I live.
Bottom Line.......Don't ever go out of business Skyline! you are doing it right!!!! JPK

An excellent place to relax and hang out - everyone knows your name.
I used to live in Bavaria, and the beer garden at Skyline is as close to a Bavarian Beer garden as I have seen in the Portland area. I don't think thats what they were intending, but thats what they got. Its got a great back padio that makes you feel like you are lounging on your back porch watching the sun set drinking a nice beer.
They only serve beer and wine and only take cash, no plastic, so be prepared. The food selection is your basic greasy bar food, but it isn't bad tasting by far, and at an excellent price. I don't think I spent more than $5 on food.
I didn't hear anything about "beaners," as the other review stated, if I did it would really aggrivate me. But unfortunately those folks are around where ever you go. Mainly I just observed a real nice layed back community type bar where everybody knows your name.
If you're ride a motorcycle, the roads in the surroudning area make this is a great place to ride up to.
* I had to spell "layed" as such, the program citysearch uses won't let me spell it correctly as it may offend someone.

Great View.
Nice place to stop while out on a drive for a cold drink. In the summer the patio is a nice place to sit and enjoy the view. They often have BBQs outside on the patio.

"The View Place".
A portland landmark, Skyline has sat upon the hill overlooking Beaverton and Hillsboro for over 50 years. Here you can watch the sun set over the city while playing horse shoes, pool, ping pong or darts, all while cooking up a steak on the outdoor BBQ. Music inside and out, lottery, and a great beer selection. Come up the hill and view this extraordinary "Saloon" from the 40's and all it's antiques, atmosphere, and unsurpassed beauty.
