Luxury beds and deluxe amenities help business folks and families sleep well at this comfortable mid-level chain..
In Short
Warm chocolate chip cookies greet every guest at this Hilton-owned hotel, a friendly touch that fits in with the hotel's business-casual attitude. Another way Doubletree helps its
guests relax is the Sweet Dreams bed, which features a pillow-top mattress, high thread-count linens, down comforters and lots of jumbo pillows. Amenities also include high-speed Internet access, in-room coffeemaker and complimentary newspaper; properties also typically feature a swimming pool, a fitness center and a range of meeting facilities.…
Comfortable and convenient. Wow, sorry previous reviewers had negative experiences, but we really enjoyed our recent stay at the Doubletree. Front desk staff is friendly & helpful; love the warm cookies upon check-in. Asked to change to a room away from the elevator, the staff accommodated the change expediently and w/ smiles. Queen rooms are a bit small but comfy (knew someone staying in a double room w/ 2 beds; their room was huge w/ a balcony and "Sweet Dreams" pillows, we were jealous!) . Rooms are nice & clean, beds are comfortable. Room service food was tasty. The little cafe-like counter in the lobby was good for picking up coffee and pastries on the go. The fitness center was fine - predomniantly cardio machines with 1 toning multi-use unit. Proximity to the MAX train was a real convenience, loved that. I could see both business travelers and vacationers enjoying their stays here. Would stay here again.…
The Horror!. I have made reservations twice at this hotel to attend a work-sponsored party, and each time I am given a smoking room, DESPITE making reservations for a NON smoking room far in advance!!! Apparently entire floors of "luxury" suites in this hotel are reserved for smoking. Given the service and clientele, I would NOT recommend. Stay away!…
Very Disappointing.
Every summer, I take my family to a local hotel for swimming and shopping - like a vacation near home. This hotel advertised "the largest non-suite rooms in Portland" and these are not large. I get
two rooms and they could not get two connecting. The one for the kids had not enough room left for a foldout bed. We cancelled the rollaway but were charged for it anyway.
This hotel advertised a heated outdoor pool but the water was frigid. They also advertised beautiful views but ours was of the roof. Finally, I am opposed to paying extra money to park at the hotel I am paying to stay at. No one likes being nickel and dimed to death.
Overall, I would not recommend staying here.…
Doubletree, Portland. Overall, our atay there was not a positive experience. It began with a $12 per night parking charge, which we were not informed of ahead of time, and an "I don't care" attitude was shown by the desk clerk.…
