This is a great place to come for
brunch and is almost always packed. This is a mom place and you won't find too many hipsters. Okay for kids, but nice with the folks. Good atmosphere and service. Food is okay.

Cadillac Cafe is excellent. I love the
french toast! It is a classy restaurant with nice decor, professional servers in white shirts/black pants, beautiul flower arrangements, and most importantly, great food. I have always had an excellent dining experience.

Usually great, but...whoopsie!.
I love this place, but today they undercooked my favorite dish. By the time I got to the center of my hazelnut French custard toast, I discovered it was raw in the middle. When I told the waiter, he just picked up the remains and walked away. I wasn't expecting my meal free or any other kind of offering, but he didn't even apologize. I dislike undertipping, but this time they didn't get even a 10% tip out of me.

DELISH!!!.
I had found this place on City Search awhile ago and decided to put it in my favorites. A couple of weeks ago we went on a Sunday morning. The place was packed, so we knew this was a good sign. The wait was 20-25 minutes, but the host said that they have "first come first serve" seating that looks over the dining room available. We got to sit right away. We both ordered "The Bunkhouse" and it was beyond delicious. Also a huge plus it appeared that the owners were also working the floor, and working just as hard as everyone. Love that! Can't wait to go back.

Fantastic breakfast!!.
We went to the Cadillac Cafe for breakfast at around 11:30 on a Sunday morning - not the best time to get breakfast anywhere. It was a 30 minute wait, but the host pointed us to some empty spots over at the coffee bar where we were able to sit immediately. The service was prompt (especially considering how busy it was) and courteous (when I asked for a non-dairy creamer, Jen made sure to ask me about the dairy in the breakfast items I ordered; she was very good about checking on us and seemed quite genuine). The food was absolutely amazing. Great place, I look forward to going back next time I am in town!

Best breakfast in Portland!!.
This is by far my favorite restaurant to go to when I'm visiting Portland. I recommend the Pear Mimosa and the Bunkhouse Vittles (eggs, the best turkey sausage, home fries and hazelnut french toast). To die for... Get 2 pear mimosas... If you're in a hurry, sit at the counter and they'll get you in and out in no time. Be sure to check out the big pink Caddy behind glass. Can't wait to get back to Portland to go again.

Very Eclectic Food.
I think this place is trying to be neuvo-chic, but can't resist staying a little bit Portland. The breakfast fare as well as the lunch is plentiful and tasty. The wait staff is very attentive and they will be most accommodating for your touchy palates or allergy prone tastes. Substitutions are not touted, but they will do it if it means you enjoy your food better. They also offer up egg substitutes for those watching their cholesterol.
I've never had a bad cup of coffee; but if you are a Starbucks fan you may be disappointed - the beans aren't burnt here. While the wait can be long; the food is worth it. Large parties should call ahead though; they are very kid friendly; they even have crayons and pictures for the kids.

and a wonderful overall experience..thoughtful service..not a bad wait..chicken apple sausage is one of the very best I have ever tasted...the potatoes were perfectly spiced and crisp..an excellent value..three people including coffee and two additional beverages as well as full plate breakfasts and a bread all for under $40--charming decor and very very clean...perfect.

Not just a Breakfast place.
Typically I've thought of the Cadillac Cafe as a great place for breakfast, which it is, but I went there for lunch and was not disappointed. I had the Red Curry Salmon and it was delicious. The salmon was cooked to perfection and while there wasn't a lot of it, I didn't complain as the rice more than made up for the lack of fish. Afterwards, we ordered dessert and I had the Pumpkin Mousse. I love Pumpkin but even this was a bit much of a Pumpkin aftertaste even for me.
My only real compliant was the service. Our waitress was pretty unfriendly, had no sense of humor, and my friend and I felt like she didn't really want to be there. When he ordered dessert, there were two choices, and he said we'd take one of each. It seemed pretty straight-forward but she just stood there with a combination of "duh" and attitude on her face. He repeated it again and she took our order.
This is a pretty interesting place inside. There is a tricked out Pink Cadillac inside the restaurant. It's hard to miss and gives a Happy Days kind of feel even though the dishes, clientele, and prices are pretty sophisticated. They like their color pink, too. You'll see what I'm talking about when you go here. There is also a small little bar where you can order coffee, spirits, or soda pop. I've been here before and never noticed that before now. I also noticed quite a bit of diversity amongst the clientele, which is a welcome change from the suburbs.
I will continue to go back to the Cad Cafe, while only hoping I don't get stuck with the same waitress. I'd mention her name here but I'd like to think that by the next time I come back she'll no longer be working there.
