Best open air tubs and massage therapists in Portland
by DanielJ1
Common Ground Wellness Center in NE Portland is as close to nirvana as one can find in Portland. I have been to the new facility four times and it gets better each time. The staff is friendly, the service excellent, the place is spotless, the showers (four) are refreshing, the sauna and the hot tubs are set at the perfect temperatures for optimal comfort. As for the open air hot tub setting, it simply doesn't get any better. The prices are very reasonable for the value received. The professionalism of the massage therapists on staff is impressive. They listen. They offer suggestions. They deliver.
This place is truly one of Portland's treasures.
- Pros: The atmosphere

First of all Citysearh got the address wrong, its
5010 NE 33rd Ave, Portland, OR - (503) 238-1065 This is where the HOT TUBS and SAUNA are. I have been there several times and am seriously thinking of becomming a life time member. Its totally worth it!! The cooperative really has out done themselves with this new location, according to my Massage Therapist there, he told me that the building used to be a Cascade Mental Health center.
For those of you that are body conscious the tubs are clothing optional, which means most people most of the time are with out clothing. No big deal though its a holistic wellness center and patrons are expected to respect other's mental and physical space. It's a place to unwind from the crazzy society we live in and heal. There are times that are only for men and only for women as well.
I am new to the area and wanted a place where I could get a good deep tissue massage, this was the place! Thank you again the New Common Ground Wellness Cooperative is a 6 star joint!
- Pros: great pools and massage
- Cons: are not open 24/7
Relaxing and very enjoyable!

Having visited Inner City Hot Tubs several times when in Portland, I can highly recommend it to both visitors and locals alike. The atmosphere is serene and fellow visitors are usually friendly and polite. Do not worry about how you look, you will be accepted just the way you are. When the new facility opens in February 2008, it promises to be even better than the original location! Be sure to call first to make a reservation and make sure you are not planning to go during the men only or women only time slots each week. If you have never visited a clothing optional venue, the hot tubs will be a safe and enjoyable way to have that unique experience. You may want to return again and again. You also may want to schedule a Swedish massage as part of your visit.
- Pros: Relaxing atmosphere, clean and neat
- Cons: none
