Fresh Italian food reasonabley priced

I had veal parmigianna yesterday for lunch at Giuseppe's, one of the few decent restaurants in the east Portland/Gresham area. It was great and it is one of my favorite dishes at Giuseppe's, always fresh, always cheesy, always consistent, great tasting veal. I have been eating at Giuseppe's since it opened (I think back in 86). I am American born and of Italian decent, having the privilege of visiting Italy only once. The reason I mention this is because I get a kick out of reading some of the reviews on this page challenging the Italian authenticity of some of Giuseppe's dishes. I grew up learning that there are at least 13 different dialects spoken throughout Italy’s multitude of provinces/regions from Calabrese to Milanese, each varying in culture and menu. I highly recommend Giuseppe's for good food and a fun time. Along with the veal I especially enjoy the lasagna, spaghetti carbonara and chicken fettuccini Giuseppe's.

Great food, Service and wonderful atmosphere!

My husband and I don't get the chance to eat out much in that we have a small child so when we do it is a very special event. We went to giuseppes on a Friday night and even though they were extremely busy we only had to wait 10 minutes for a table. We waited in the bar and order drinks. I ordered a glass of red wine, my husband had a jack and coke. The bartender (tall guy with tattoos) was very attentive and effcient. He made us both laugh with some small talk and pointed at a empty table for us to sit at. He told a waitress to come right over and help us. The waitress (a short hair girl I think her name was Emily) was as sweet as could be and when she found out thet we were on a "date" away from our child she went out of her way to make it special for us. She reccommended a wonderful pizza for us to share, we loved it. Anyway it was a lovely dining experience with great food and service in such a fun atmosphere. We will definetly be making this restaurant our regular "date" place, hopefully with the same bartender and the same waitress. We enjoyed it immensely.
- Pros: Great service, good strong drinks and best pizza around.
- Cons: Not the greatest part in town.

My friends and I have been going to Guisepps Lounge at least twice a month for almost a year.... The staff knows and remembers us and we always have a great experience. Chocolate martini taste great and looks cool.
