slimy kiosk vendors

There are some great new stores, and fortunately you do not have to access the mall to access these new stores. In the core of the mall the kiosk vendors are rude, intrusive, and have changed the experience for me. They are agressive and step in front of shoppers, interrupting conversations, make snarky remarks, and so on. One particularly eager vendor waits outside of major entrances, no where NEAR her Dead Sea cart, to try to nab shoppers. I encountered her outside Penny's. Avoiding eye contact does not work- they are so persistant they will come right at you, forcing interaction. Mall security fines them $100 per documentable incident, so you can email Paul DiMarco at clackamastowncenter. to report which cart company accousted you, and he will levy a fine against them, but as it stands now, they consider it part of the cost of doing business. Maybe if enough people start reporting, they will get the hint that this is unacceptable.
- Pros: revamped, new stores
- Cons: gauntlet of agressive kiosk vendors
The power went out. I couldn't do my christmas shopping. and They wouldn't refund my money for the movie I was 1/2 the way through...

One the Saturday before christmas I took my disabled mother in a wheel chair, my three year old who was riding in her lap, my five year old and my seven year old to the mall to finish up the christmas shopping... My mom can walk short distances but not stairs etc.... Well we went through the bottom portion of the mall and when we went to the top I figured I would treat everyone to a movie... about 1/2 the way through the movie the whole mall lost power.... I had to stand in line for 45mins for some assistant manager to tell me he didn't care that I had come over 80 miles to get there (from Cascade Locks) he would not refund my cash.... He gave me a 'rain check' that expired in one year.... So agrivated form that I tried to get my mom out of the mall in a wheel chair... I had rented one there since I was anticipating not having enough room to bring hers... I had to get to the first level of the mall so I could get her ID back... and to get to my car... they made me leave the wheel chair 1/2 way through the mall and then I had to go all the way to JC penny's with my mom and children walk down the escilators and then back 1/2 way through the mall to get her license back... This was very hard and long process... The kids were fussing and my mom almost did not make it.... She has been very ill ever since... NOT at all a pleasent process...
- Pros: was nice starting out
- Cons: no fall back for disabled, no service skills amongst the staff
