Blech! Save your money!. I ate here only one time. The food was bad and what really turned me off was when I saw a restaurant employee throw a piece of chicken, that had dropped onto the counter around the buffet (where people's hands touch), back in to the tray of fresh chicken.

Don't eat here. The food will make you sick.. I didn't understand then, but I understand now, why you must pay for this meal before you try to eat it. If I hadn't I'm afraid I wouldn't have paid for the WORST meal I have ever eaten. The mac & cheese was soupy. The chicken dishes, such as the general tso, orange, and hoisin chicken had NO flavor at all. The sauces supplied a distinguishing color to the food and that was about it. Everything that was fried in oil had the same fishy flavor and aroma, including the dessert pastries. The crab puffs were by far the worst; having a spoiled fishy taste that made my friends and I nauseous. The list goes on; there are so many dishes I could comment on, and not a single one of them looked, smelled, or tasted edible.

For all of you who are wondering. This is my first and only review I have written. I felt compelled to write because of my horrible experience. As I was leaving this restaurant I wanted to scream out the the people entering the building. Maybe I could spare them the horror.

Please don't eat at the Panda Buffet. If you do, at least don't say I didn't warn you!

Are Chinese AYCE's All Like This?. Well, I can't add much more than the other reviewers, but I'll try. For the price, this is about as good as you can expect. I wish I could find a Chinese all you can eat place with Fried rice the way it's supposed to be cooked, not this dry, vaguely soy sauce tasting confetti. Egg Foo Young is like a shrunken bit of pastry. There are things that are good here, though--the mussels are very good, as are the black pepper chicken wings, and having salad is a smart move here. The problem is, you can never bank on what's going to be here. One day, the mussels are there, the next day they've been replaced with--spareribs (??) Strange. It would be nice if they had a consistent menu. Another little pet peeve of mine is that they urgently try to seat you next to other people all the time, so they don't have to walk to clean up, and my wife and I like to eat alone.

Other than that, this place is pretty good, for the price. I've had much worse Chinese Buffet experiences, to be certain.

Cheap Eats. There are two nearly identical Panda Buffet Restaurants in PDX metropolitan area. I've tried both at lunch time and they're indeed about the same in food and service. Service is pretty good and the restaurant is near and clean. However, the food quality was pretty poor, but considering the price, what should I expect? I just questioned the quality and freshness of the food, especially the meat, which was obviousely quity fatty. I liked the Gen. Tso's chicken the best. I think there were American style salad, too.

What a good snack!. Of all the Chinese buffets in town I've tried, this one is about the best--merely because they have more unusual choices (mussels in black bean sauce and fried biscuits stand out in my memory the most), but other than that, it's sadly the same. Chinese buffets somehow do not know how to make Egg Foo Young or fried rice correctly. The fried rice they did have tasted just like steamed rice with a few carrots and peas thrown in.

But it's a good value, and the BBQ pork is great. Lots of seating, and this one does get crowded.
