Good eats. They have big omelets and thick bacon. I have never eaten lunch or anything but breakfast there. I have always enjoyed their food. The servers are usually really good. they do employ some people who sometimes seem like they cant speak english very well, which is frustrating to deal with in a business like a breakfast diner. The coffee is usually really weak and watered down but the food is really good.

Best breakfast in SE. Hale's has a huge selection for breakfast. Everything from pancakes, swedish pancakes, german pancake, biscuits and gravy, omelettes, scrambles, you name it, they have it and it's good.

Be prepared for a wait if you go later in the morning on a weekend.

It sucked and my stomach still hurts. What can I say, it sucked all the way around...coffee was nasty and lukewarm, when my son got his hamburger the patty was in 5 pieces and the cook tried to shove it together and serve it anyway. Our server was nice but the rest of the staff was very uninterested in SERVING the customers, it took forever to get a second cup of nasty coffee. The sandwich I had, the special club or whatever had a nasty sweet sauce and old alfalfa sprouts on it, no joke my stomach still hurts. The pancakes and corn dog turned out ok.

I couldnt wait to get out of there. When I paid at the register the girl behind the counter never even said anything to me. Just took my credid card, scanned it and handed me the ticket. I signed it, looked right at her, and she just took the ticket and moved to the next customer....like I wasnt even really there.

Bottom line is if you want to take your family for a nice breakfast DO NOT take them to Hale's.

Go to the Bomber instead, where customer service, good food, and return customers seem to be important to the management.

AWESOME!!. their breakfast selection is the BEST in all of portland. the portions are HUGE and the fruit very fresh. i used to eat there all the time when i lived in west linn, but still make the trip every chance i get even tho i'm now in vancouver.
