Tips for Buster's Texas Style Barbecue

Always Great. The food is always great. The service fast (a plus at lunch time) and friendly. We love the fact that the sauces are self serve, everyone can take what they like. However with "REAL" BBQ, the sauce really isn't necessary.

Too Fat and salty. Took my sister and mother to this place for what we thought would be good barbeque. We were disappointed. We all had pork ribs and they had a ton of fat on them. All the sauces were very salty, not like the texas sauces I have had in Texas. The cole slaw was excellent and so were the bbq beans but we all decided we would not go back based on the quality of the food. The service through the cafeteria style line was excellent. Continuing to search for good bbq in Portland.

Today Was BBQ Day. I have recently moved to the Portland area and decided to enjoy some BBQ. Over the years, I have lived in Kansas City and traveled many times to Texas for work, so I have had my share of great BBQ. I enjoyed some wonderful BBQ at Portland's Bones and Brew so I figured this would be easy! How wrong I was! TK's Smokehouse is no more...so much for my first stop! I then ventured off to Campbell's. They are not open on Sundays! So much for my second stop! I decided to try Buster's...and in a word: pathetic. The food was cold and dry and the service was basically nonexistent....and I spent nearly $17 for that! All I wanted was some decent food in a sit down restaurant...is that too much to ask?

Casual atomosphere, great food.. I love the food and the casual atmosphere. The decor is oldstyle western and unique. They even have a saloon next door.
