What a joke

by THEAMJS at Citysearch

The place is nice. The parking is a joke one entrance. The food is ok the price is high. It doens't cost that much to make the food they are making. Especially when you pay such cheap labor and I mean cheap. The chef is a east coaster, and all talk. They will not be open very long.

  • Pros: thumbs down
  • Cons: parking a joke

Good food and nice atmoshpere

by NaomiM at Citysearch

This restaurant was a lot nicer inside than I thought it would be. It was a good variety on the menu and the service was right on. It was priced pretty reasonable also. Plus it's a good alternative to the same boring types of food.

  • Pros: good service,good food
  • Cons: none

WOW

by Mike c at Citysearch

I had the Tommy O's pork with noodles and the tomatoes and cucumbers.

I don't remember the last time I had a meal that tasted that good. That the pork was so tender and the perfect flavor and paired with the noodles was outstanding!!! I can't wait to go back!

  • Pros: Best food I've eaten period!
  • Cons: It's 3 1/2 hours from home

A great place to entertain and eat!

by foodiefest23 at Citysearch

I absolutely love Tommy O's I have been a long time customer of their downtown shop and have been exited to have them open a new place in East Vancouver. Their food is wonderful, the New York steak is awesome as is their calamari. I love their late night happy hour and the beer selection is hard to beat. I recommend you don't listen to the haters who only order fish and chips and go try it for yourself

  • Pros: Great food, Friendly service, Beautiful restaurant
  • Cons: parking

OVER PRICED - UNDER DELIVERED

by UNIMPRESSED at Citysearch

The prices are way out of line for what they offer. I went to lunch years ago down town and got the fish and chips lunch special - I was with a friend who got the same. When I got my bill it was over $20 for two small pieces of fish and soggy fries. I thought it was for both of us - no just mine.

Another friend wanted to go to new one on 192nd, menu was not the same - I like the katsu (?) chicken. Did not have there. Prices were high and we spent $38 for two mediocre pork sandwiches and again soggy half burnt fries and a soda - for lunch. Will not be going back. I am surprised the restaurant stays open downtown let alone can open a new one. Also agree with the slow service time - when you are on a one hour lunch you can not wait 50 minutes for your food.

  • Pros: NONE TO SPEAK OF
  • Cons: EXPENSIVE/MENU NOT LIKE DOWNTOWN

Not worth the price

by Foodie85 at Citysearch

First of all, it took the waitress about 15 minutes and asking another waiter to check on my order before she came back to say that they were out of the beer I ordered. I ordered the tofu lettuce wraps (expecting them to be like the excellent ones at PF Chang's), and they were just bland salad rolls, and too expensive for two little rolls. I then ordered the california rolls, and when they came out, it turned out to be imitation crab. That's one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to seafood at restaurants- if you're going to use fake crab, DON'T advertise it as real crab.

On the plus side, my friend asked for the nachos, which our waitress said were only available for happy hour. She then asked who we believe to be the owner's son, and even though it wasn't happy hour, he got them for us. The nachos were were excellent. If I ever go back to Tommy O's again, I'm only going at happy hour.

  • Pros: nice atmosphere, beautiful restaurant
  • Cons: too expensive, food was disappointing

Good menu, slow food

by CSMobileUser2 at Citysearch

I really hope they succeed but you have to wait so long for the food to arrive it's crazy. I've been here twice now and had to wait way longer than you would expect for a good place. They latest took 1 hour from sit down to food arrival. If they don't improve I fear they'll go away like the Chinese they replaced.

Best in the West

by TheKnow at Citysearch

I have been to both Tommy O's locations numerous times and both offer the best food, spirits and atmosphere to be found in Vancouver. Options are key, and you will find dishes ranging in price and preference at both restaurants.

The lounge scene is spectacular and few can compete with their happy hour, not even in Portland. The staff in knowledgeable, the wine list is stellar and there is free music at both locations many nights of the week.

  • Pros: Best food in SW WA, lots of dietary options, cocktails
  • Cons: Sometimes inconsistent

fun lounge, good food

by mkfish1 at Citysearch

This place is really neat. I really like their fresh, different foods. We ate in in the restaurant for lunch and had a fantastic tuna sandwich and a carrot and jalepeno soup with maui chips. So good. Later that week we went to the separate lounge. That was such a suprise! A very cool place to hang out. Lots of loung-y seating, a man singing wiht a guitar, surf movies playing and a fantastic pulled pork quesadilla! One of the best places to relax for an after work drink in Vancovuer.

  • Pros: something different

CHECK YOUR VISA STATEMENT!!!

by GSSMITH at Citysearch

My sister took me to the new location on 192nd. Great food but it was busy and the service was a little slow. My sister paid the bill with her Visa and left a very nice 25% cash tip but when she received her Visa statement it had a additional 20% tip on it. She called the restaurant and when they pulled her receipt they could see that she didn't leave a tip on her card. The manager was very nice and credited her Visa card. It pays to check your statement.

  • Pros: Great location
  • Cons: Parking is very limited
