We have eaten at this downtown Vancouver restaurant a few times. The first time we we ate here it was fabulous and loved the Pad Thai and roasted chicken. I don't know if they have changed chef's but the quality and taste on the return visits didn't meet our expectations.
I LOVE THAI ORCHID - VANCOUVER, WA!

I've been a faithful Thai customer for 2 years. I worked in downtown Vancouver and have been addicted to Thai Orchid ever since. The servers goes out of their way to make sure everything is perfect for you. I've gotten to know a few of the ladies and they are great women. I come in for lunch once or twice a week and order the #5 medium-hot w/extra chicken! I've tried a few other Thai restaurants and nothing compares to Thai Orchid. Customer service is number 1 and the quality of food is superb! On December 11th, they're opening a sushi bar!!! I can't wait! Thank you, Thai Orchid - for your outstanding food and service, it is much appreciated!
- Pros: Great, friendly, fast service and fantastic food!
- Cons: NONE

Don't plan on enjoying a late lunch...
by Galey at Citysearch
We have been going to the Thai Orchid for over 10 years and have always been pleased with their food and service. Yesterday we stopped in for a late lunch at 2:15 PM. When we walked in we were greeted by a young woman who told us they had stopped seating and would reopen for dinner at 4:30 PM.
Disappointed, we left, but as we walked out the door, we noticed the lunch hours posted on window stated that seating for lunch was until 2:30 PM. We thought perhaps she had misread the time so we went back and pointed out that the current time was only 2:15 PM and according to their sign, lunch hour seating was until 2:30 PM. Her response was that they stop seating at 2:15 PM.
If they are going to stop seating for lunch at 2:15 PM, that information should be reflected on their window, this website, and anywhere else they advertise. Not to honor the hours your have posted is inappropriate business practice.
While the food is excellent (4-5 starts), this failure to observe stated hours is poor (1 star). This experience means that we can no longer recommend this restaurant with confidence.
- Pros: Good food
- Cons: Hours of seating and operation are capricious

We have been to many Thai Orchid locations. We love everyone of them. The food is very consistence. The atmosphere at this location is definitely top notch. We order Pad Thai, Pad Khing (stir fried ginger dish), and stir fried cat fish. The y are all very good. My wife especially like the cat fish dish.
- Pros: Romantic place, good food, good service
Very Good, NO Downside

We tried Thai Orchid on the recommendation of a co-worker of my wife. I was put off initially by a couple of the other Citysearch reviews, but we tried it anyway and I'm glad we did.
The service was first rate, a LITTLE wait for the cashier when we were leaving, but business was picking up and she was seating people.
We tried the combination appetizer tray, really good combination of four, and then the seafood salad, nice shrimp, fresh vegetables and well dressed, the pad thai which my wife thought was excellent, and the tom yum with ground pork, shrimp and squid.
Everything was very, very good. Their 'condiment tray' has fresh jalapenos, great little pickled Thai peppers, chili paste and a fish sauce (apparently) that I didn't try.
The beer was cold, the waiter was attentive, and we now have a new first preference for Thai food in Vancouver.
- Pros: Easy to park, wide range of menu items, fresh ingredients.
- Cons: None for our visit.

There is an abundance of thai restaurants in downtown vancouver, and this is my least favorite. I have had poor service and only mediocre food, especially when it's priced higher than surrounding areas. Too bad.
- Pros: ?
- Cons: bad service, over priced mediocre thai food
Good food, bad service

I have loved the food here for many years, it has always been my favorite Thai restaurant in town. But we've noticed lately that the service has really been going downhill. The last 3 times I've been there, we were seriously unable to get someone to go and take our order. We had to get up and go track someone down every time we wanted anything. And when they would go over finally, they wouldn't even apologize or anything, just stare blankly at us. So I haven't been to any of the other locations, and can't compare them, but I may just have to stop going to this one. The service is just horrible.
- Pros: Amazing thai food
- Cons: Service is horrible, pricey
