Excellent Mexican Food Place. We are new to Vancouver and ate at El Presidente for the first time last night and thought it was fantastic! If you want authentic Mexican food, and not the American/Mexican tex mex food, then this is the place to go! Its an old classic building with character and charm that makes you feel welcome. The wait staff took good care of us, although you could tell they were very busy and a little overwhelmed, but it did not appear to affect our service. The kids meals included drinks and dessert, something you dont find much anymore. Even the beans, rice and chips, were better than several Mexican places I have eatten. Again, very authentic and good quality! We were happy to find this place close to our new home. We will be back.  View Less View More

DIRTY--SMELLY AND HORRIBLE FOOD!!!!. Not sure how this restaurant could even receive one star. I am in agreement with the Sept 14 Post. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE! The entire restaurant smells like musty sour carpet and cigarettes. The tables were absolutely filthy. The grouted tiled table tops had years of food and stains embedded in them. The health department really should look into inspecting this place. I am sure that the tables have bacteria growing on them. The bland food was absolutely a disappointment as well. The enchiladas had no taste and were watery. The fajitas contained dry over cooked meat with lots onions. Again no flavor!! The service was almost non-existent!! They call this Mexican food? My suggestion is find somewhere else to eat Mexican Food this filthy restaurant is a waste of time and money!!!!!!!  View Less View More

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!!!. How this restaurant received four and five star puzzles me!! I can only attribute it to fake reviews. The food, service and atmosphere are poor to say the least. I am positive that the place has NOT been deep cleaned in years. The restaurant smells of wet dog and old food. The tables appeared to have caked on food and stains in the grout. At that point a Clorox Wipe would have come in handy due to the fact I was worried that the years of filth would make me ill. The food was just as bad or worst then it appeared. The rice contained something similar to a slimy onion. The enchiladas were bland and mushy. (Most likely have been sitting in a steam table for days) The bean were only item that was edible on the entire plate. Will not be back  View Less View More

service needs improvement. I was disappointed to be taken to this establishment for my 64th birthday and nothing was mentioned about a birthday complimentary 1/2 off meal even tho the waiter was told it was my birthday. the service was terribly slow and there were 5 in our party and we kept running out of chips and salsa due to the lenghthy wait for our meals and the bus girl did more then our waiter. The food was 1/;2 hot. The rice and beans had sat under the heat lamp i an sure as they had a crust ion them but the rice was cool- the fajitas came in spurts-- the condiment the platter and then the shells_ I was very disappointed in the delivery and service and am sure will not recommend this place if any onoe is in a hurry or expects great service  View Less View More

great food, great service, but . . .. My husband and I have been dining here for ages, love the place. However, we went there recently with our 6 month old baby and tried to use a high chair. They had ten available and every single one of them was broken in some fashion and dirty/sticky. Just sayin . . .it left a very negative impression!  View Less View More
