The McMenamins on the Columbia is consistently good. The selection of micro brews on tap is wonderful and expansive. The food is fresh and usually served very fast. The wait staff is always pleasant and a slice of the great culture that is McMenamins, it adds the the ambiance. Keep Portland Weird really works here.

Fun and great beer

any McMenamins property is fun. they all have great beer. Lovely view, mostly prompt seating, good service. Once in a while the food is over done, and i would not recommend the fish in any way, I had halibut there that was foul smelling and dry. But for a quick burger with friends, or their great cajunized tater tots, definately!

Great View! Excellent Food, Good Beer and Fun Time!

Like other McMen's they keep the menu choices limited. They have developed a formula that works!

Excellent Burgers, sandwishes, salads, and appetizers. My wife likes their beer and I love their chicken strips. Which by the way some McMen's have taken chicken strips off of their menu. I still try to order them and request it Buffalo Wing style when they are available. Please put them back on your regular menu!!

Waiting for food can be a little long (very busy) but usually the staff is at least trying. Good local place in a beautiful location.

Best Beer and Tots in town!

I love this place! Great beer and wonderful food ....and a view of the river! Come on can it get any better than this? If you have time to sit back and take in a few drinks, get some good local conversation goin, and get your eat- on then this is the place to be.

I highly recommend the Hard Cider for an alternative to wine.

The riverside deck and magnificent view make this a standout in McMenamins' pub empire. More than 1,400 kegs of ale are brewed on-site with favorites like Black Rabbit Porter and Hammerhead on tap. The food is McMenamins' standard fare: flame-broiled burgers, creative and classic sandwiches, fish-and-chips and pasta. Signature ales jazz up dishes like the Brewer's seasonal greens salad with raspberry-Ruby Ale vinaigrette and Terminator Stout cheesecake.

Good Beer and Food

Although some people do not understand the fact that sometimes distractions (Airports) and slow service (Due to it being busy) are out of the staff's control. People (first reviewer) should know that there are always outside factors. Over all this place is great! I have had some slow service before but when you have a half hour wait at the door what do you expect.

Don't go here for lunch

The server was nice, but pretty much clueless. It took him 10 minutes to great us, 10 minutes to come back for our order, and another half hour for our food (just soup and sandwiches) to arrive. Then he couldn't remember who had what, and didn't seem to care. The jets taking off from PDX make it too loud to talk. The food was mediocre and the soup tasted like it was out of a can. We finally had to go inside to pay. It took us an hour and a half to get out of there. If all you want is a nice view while you eat, take a sack lunch to the park nearby.

• Cons: Clueless waitstaff, Too loud, Very slow service

DECENT FOOD, GREAT VIEW!

Like most McMenamins establishments, the food is good for the price. The biggest feature here is the Great Columbia view! I would recommend this place for a nice date or a family event. I recommend the Communication Breakdown Burger and don't forget Terminator Stout! McMenamins beer rules!
