Excellent views! by Stacy J. at InsiderPages

Who Song's is located near the Columbian River and has fabulous view while you are eating some of the greatest dining in the Vancouver area. The only slight downfall is the constant celebrating - birthdays, etc. This is a family style restaurant with a great atmosphere.

Decent food, bad wait time

by Lulu61 at Citysearch

I've been to Who Song & Larry's many time haven grown up here in Vancouver. Sure, like any other restaurant you have wait times. Everyone has a limit to how long they will wait and if you have "reservations" you don't want to wait long, nor should you have to. During a Mother's Day brunch, my sister mother and I had reservations for 10AM. We arrived a little early and waited for over an hour. People coming in after us were getting sat first. We were livid. We ended up leaving. The food is ok. Certainly not the best in town but not the worst either. Their servers are terrible how ever. I think it would be a good place to get a drink on the weekend but as for making it a regular dining experience, I'll pass.

  • Pros: Views of river
  • Cons: Wait time, service, parking!

HORRIBLE FOOD & SERVICE, FILTHY AND NASTY

by kim4229 at Citysearch

This used to be good! Haven't been in 4-5 years but what a disappointment! The place was filthy, including greasy crud all over the salt & pepper shakers. When I pointed this out to the "manager," he scraped off the crud on the salt shaker with HIS FINGERNAIL! EWWWWWWWW We waited to be seated for 15 minutes with no one in the restaurant except one other table. The bathroom smelled like a sewer with standing water on the floor. I ordered steak fajitas but what I got was raw, shredded beef as if I don't know the difference ??? !!!??? The beans were cold, the rice was hard and the meat wasn't steak or even cooked through. This plate cost $18. I am appalled. THIS PLACE HAS TO BE IN VIOLATION OF EVERY HEALTH CODE! When I asked to speak to a manager, I waited 20 minutes!! There wasn't anyone in the restaurant! NASTY. What happened to the quality and cleanliness of the place? HOW ARE THEY IN BUSINESS??? I hope the free market pushes these crooks out of business before someone catches a disease.

Great Place

by djones257 at Citysearch

Awesome food and service. The Guacamole appetizer was the best I''ve ever had and I am from Tucson AZ where we have a huge selection of Mexican foods. The meals are great too.

Not a memorable meal or experience

by wolf123 at Citysearch

Yes, the location is great, right on the river. But the salsa was very bland, the food wasn't all the great and the service was just so-so. The parking situation is a nightmare. We won't be rushing back to Who-Song and Larry's anytime soon.

  • Pros: view of the river
  • Cons: parking, food not that great

NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER AGAIN!!!

by kittylindak at Citysearch

I grew up in Vancouver and this was one of my favorite spots....until tonight. I really do like the food and it's been known to have really bad parking.....because of the deck and the food, we put up with the parking. On a perfect summer day, great place to hang out. I do have to make note that it is a Saturday evening, so it was bound to be busy. However, it was my brother in laws 30th b-day. My sister called earlier this week to find out if they took reservations.......yes, was the reponse....so she made "reservations" for 20. She called today at 1 pm to confirm her "reservations" for 7 pm this evening........was told yes, she still has "reservations." My sister is known for being thurough and she is really big on "confirmations." Because we knew it would be busy and parking would awful, we got there a little before 7 PM. My sister advised all 20 friends and family to be prompt at 7. Upon arriving, I saw my sister waiting in the lobby with her 4 year old. I myself had my 3 yr old. Those of you that have or have had a 3 & 4 yr old, should know where that's going.......anyway, we were then told that they don't do "reservations" and that we would need to wait 30 minutes.....and friends and family started piling in.....the lobby is roughly 6 ft x 10 ft.....45 minutes goes by and my sister finally gets up the nerve to ask why.......the Manager begins to be very rude and sassy (rolling her eyes and using hand gestures) and reminds my sister that she is doing the best she can......yes, The Restaurant Manager.....We got there at 7, got seated at 7:45 and did not eat our food until 9:30...you do the math. The "welcome" that we received was the topic for most of the evening and we ALL decided that we would NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN. But then I figure that would be a relief for your understaffed restaurant.

  • Pros: if you like roudy
  • Cons: unprofessional customer service, understaffed

DELICIOUS MEXICAN FARE!! SERVED UP HOT AND FAST, BY AN EFFICIENT FRIENDLY STAFF.

by takestoolong at Citysearch

Almost 40 of us reserved for an important event. The booking personnel were exceptionally flexible and helpful. They gave us super suggestions and tips to help make our event one to remember, from how to decorate the room inexpensively, yet with pizzaz, to timing and seating strategy. They even gave us copies of "toasts" we could use. You would have thought it was their own party -- they were so helpful and interested! We ordered family style - platters of frijollies (sp?), nachos, fajittas , and a platter of each appetizer to be served as dinner. We sampled every shade and blend of the marguaritas. The platters were sizzling, the drinks were frozen, Everything was good. The nachos - very good. The appetizers were excellent. And there was twice as much food as we needed. Everyone agreed the food was super!!! BUT, almost all of agreed the guacamole was the best we had ever had. Ever!!! We all agreed, a GREAT TIME.

Overpriced and Gringo

by toenacious at Citysearch

Perfect if you like your Mexican food overpriced and bland! I ordered the sizzling enchiladas and they were served dry and flavorless. Dry enchiladas!! I imagine this would be a great place to go and get full on drinks and nachos but NOT the place to go if you want a good hearty authentic mexican meal. The margarita menu is larger then the food menu. You'd probably love getting drunk on the patio but just don't go with hopes of eating anything delicious...and bring a credit card because this place isn't cheap!

  • Pros: lots of drinks, outside seating
  • Cons: expensive, limited food menu, bland food

VERY DISAPPOINTING!

by jripley032847 at Citysearch

7/9/07 took 8 for birthday celebration of our 9 yr old grandson & 36 yr old son. They told us they had a children's menu but never offered them a menu.... just told us they had french fries and cheese quasadillas. We asked for more chips/salsa with our second round of drinks but never got them. Had a mediocre dinner.... little kids never got refills on their sodas. Chili rellenos weren't even cooked in the center... hard chilis and raw cheese inside. And the birthday song we were promised? no sombreros.... the waiter said they don't make sombreros anymore. so he brought out 2 coffee filters for their heads and said the band would be right out to sing to them. no complimentary desserts for birthday boys.... we ordered desserts for the group while we waited for the singers.... finally after 1/2 hour of waiting and having no one come around to fill water, or ask us how we were doing.... my husband went in and asked for the bill ($203.00) which we paid and left. How disappointing since we thought our 2 grandkids and the rest of the family would enjoy the singing and antics ..... guess they've given this all up at Who Song and Larry's. I didn't want to make a scene and our waiter knew I was very disappointed and promised us a better time next time. I tried calling the manager but she'd already left. I was also given the wrong e-mail address to express my disappointment. Folks - I'd suggest you buy a $10.00 sombrero and go to your local Taco Bell! Save yourself lots of $$$$ and a lot of disappointment.

  • Pros: GREAT scenery if you sit on the patio on old plastic chairs
  • Cons: forget about service and good food
