Very Good But be careful of details

Overall we had a great experience with this hotel and would use it again. Price for value was very very good. However, I would be more direct with them over the phone and in person. They were nearly sold out when we got there (a wedding party) and we didn't get the room we were promised on the phone. They tried to accommodate us with the only other room available in the place, but even with a 10% discount, it put us over budget. The staff was really swamped with the wedding, I can see how mistakes happen and when I realized that the discount did not wind up on our final bill, we were already back home and I just decided to let it go... I figure I'll bring it up again if we ever have occassion to use them again (I hope we do).
Anyway, the restaurant and bar closed before we got back so we never got to sample the acclaimed fare, the wedding party kept the staff jumping the whole weekend, there was no free breakfast or hospitality room on weekends so we didn't get to sample that either, but the rooms are spacious and clean, they do all seem to have one special feature or another (want a sleep number bed or a 3-person jacuzzi?) and it's a really lovely place.
- Pros: Jacuzzi
- Cons: The room with Jacuzzi did not have the sleep number bed
Warm, Cozy, Relaxing, and close to the city???

Finding that we head to the mountain more for the lodge than the skiing, we decided to skip the long trip, and booked a room at the Heathman Lodge. The hotel is very charming and warm. The staff is friendly, and very helpful - from accomodating an early check-in, to assisting with the storage of flowers.
The room decor matches the lodge very well, and the Pendleton bed spreads not only look great, but at so very warm. We will definitely be back.
An alpine-style lodge in a not-so-alpine setting.

The Scene
The local mall may be closer than the nearest ski slope, but visitors to this large lodge wouldn't know it to look at it. The place has all the trappings of a snowbound resort, including a big basalt fireplace in the lobby, another on the mezzanine and a grand wooden staircase between the two floors. There is even a carved totem pole. The tone is woodsy and down home.
The Details
The Northwest lodge theme continues in the hotel's 121 rooms and 22 suites. Alpine Pendleton Woolen Mill spreads drape the beds, and furnishings are made of hickory and pine. Generous standard rooms include seating areas and large desks with two-line phones, as well as microwaves and refrigerators.
Atmosphere.

This hotel has captured the atmosphere of sophisticated mountain lodge. I particularly enjoyed the restaurant and bar area. We stayed in a suite, very comfortable and warm decor. Would definitely visit again.
- Pros: restaurant, lodge architecture, friendly service
- Cons: location
The Heathmen Lodge Experiance
by scubapro at Citysearch
Staying at the Heathmen Lodge will give you a lifetime of great memories. As a wonderful place to stay, the Heathman Lodge was hand-crafted out of the finest of materials. It is a new property that was built, is owned and managed by North Pacific Managment, who is an area leader of hotels and restraunts.
- Pros: Wonderful Service, Great Food, Friendly Staff
