Over-Rated

Tried this place several times, different times of the year. Not impressed. The menu is eclectic, but doesn't deliver. The spring rolls were soggy, the tortilla soup was bland - even added chicken in another visit. The main bartender (Sherry?) is awesome, the other bartender is definitely lacking personality. Nice decor, but can get really loud because it is rather small. They're not the only game in town.
- Pros: outside seating
- Cons: attitude
Whoo Hoo for Ya Ya's
by calibigdaddy at Citysearch
I guess after all the years it's been open, Ya Ya's is no longer a secret. You might drive by and never see it on Mill Plain with all the other chains that have opened up. You may even have driven by and wondered why all the cars are in that little parking lot.
The food here defies being categorized. It's not Mexican, but they have Mexican style food. It's not Thai, but they have killer chicken peanut rolls and skewers. It's not a burger place, but the half pounder on the menu will kick you butt if you add pepper jack cheese.
The best way to describe this place is great food, killer drinks and HOT wait staff. Could it be an accident that so many attractive blondes work there? It's like the owner planned it that way. Even the guys that work there make the girls swoon.
Get there from 4-6 and after 9 for the best happy hour food in the 'Couv. No drink deals during happy hour, but you don't get cheated on the free poured drinks, unless you tick off the bartender.
It definitely has a neighborhood feel, and sitting outside by the gas fireplace on a cool night is a rare treat. My recommendation on the happy hour menu - chicken or beef Ya Ya rolls or the fish taco.
Great place for a pre-function dinner or late snack, but not too late. They close at 11pm Sun-Thur and midnight on Fri-Sat.
- Pros: Great drinks, excellant food and a fun place to hang out
- Cons: pretty noisy when it's busy
Best Mexican in Vancouver
by boobizzle at Citysearch
Best Mexican food in this area, not the usual "american style boring mexican". The peanut ya ya rolls are awesome. Great value, great food. Decor and atmosphere is great. It can get a little too noisy when it is busy. Only negative, the margaritas are good, but too small!
- Pros: food
- Cons: noisy
Best Margarita in the "couve
by adev77 at Citysearch
This place is outstanding. I haven't ever had a bad meal here ever! Happy hour is great - must try the peanut chicken ya ya rolls! And of course a Nuclear Margarita!
- Pros: Food, Drinks, Non-smoking bar!
- Cons: Noise Level
Very consistent

My family enjoys eating here now and then and it is always good food, good value, and friendly service. In fact, my girlfriend and I came here once and hadn't returned for about a year and the waitress not only remembered us, but even what we ordered. And believe me, neither one of us is so attractive that the waitress remembered because she had fallen in love during our first visit. She was just that friendly.
- Pros: service, food, price
- Cons: a bit small
Yum, Yum

Really good food! Awesome place. It can get a little crowded, but definently a hot spot. Speak loud, it is real noisy.
- Pros: Food, Inexpensive, Location
- Cons: Crowded, Noisy, Parking

The best Margarita in the 'Couv. Outstanding menus in both the bar and main dining area.

Went there early one Friday. Seating outside is worth the wait. Great Food. Cool Bar. A little too crowded. Glad we got there 7pm on a Friday, otherwise, no way. Kicks ass for Vanc... Getty up.
- Pros: vibe, ambience, drinks
- Cons: location, parking, service
