Happy hour is the best in town
by supsonic3
I have never been for dinner because it's a bit pricey, but the happy hour is really nice. Not a lot of drink selections, but the food is well priced and of great quality.
Best Happy Hour Burger You've Ever Eaten, guaranteed

Good everything, especially the happy hour burger for $5 bucks.
The seats were a little uncomfortable in the name of being modern.
But overall good.
- Pros: Happy Hour Burger
- Cons: A little too modern to be comfortable
2nd time even better than the first
by greeneyes21
Stopped into Portland, from out of town, and had a light dinner in their bar area. This was my second time eating here and it was even better than the first. The food keeps getting better! They had a special that night of calamari, served with arugula, and capers, and lemon. It was amazing and even better than fresh calamari I've had in Italy. Definitely a must for all diners! Try it while they still have it on their menu!
- Pros: amazing dishes
- Cons: busy and had to wait for a table in the bar
love the cocktails, love the food
by owl314
I had their new cocktail - the "Magnolia" and then I had another. I'm usually skeptical of fruity drinks, but this was the perfect combination; nothing "sticky-sweet" about it... instead a nice balance of fresh peaches and lime juice. It went perfectly with the Tuna Tartare. I think this may be the perfect summer combination.
- Pros: try the "magnolia" - the perfect spring cocktail
- Cons: busy bar, but that made it fun
great happy hour!

i had a few people meet me after work for happy hour and it was great! they just switched their happy hour menus, so now you get 50% off everything on the bar menu! i had the steak frites with a salad and was perfectly full for dinner, and it only cost me $9.00! we were hoping to sit on the patio, as there had been a hint of sun this week, but not the day we were there, so that was the only "con." can't wait for this weather to change. i have a feeling we'll be spending lots of happy hours on the patio here!
- Pros: 1/2 off their bar menu for happy hour
- Cons: still too cold to sit on the patio
Class...
by artistannie
We stopped in to Bluehour on a busy Friday night without reservations. The Hostess and (I'm assuming) Manager were very friendly and let us know they could accommodate us "right away." We are from out of town, and as a party of 5, we thought we'd have to wait, but they quickly opened up a 4-top table, and turned it into a round that was perfect for us girls to sit around and catch up. I'm a vegetarian, which in a lot of places means I get a pasta primavera as the vegie option... not here. I had the Risotto Cakes with lentils and fresh vegetables, and I've been craving them ever since. They were truly excuisite. My friends all ordered the fresh fish, (I think a Monkfish) and one had the "chef's recommended menu." You'd think we were a table of guys by the way we cleaned our plates. It truly was amazing.
I think the nicest thing was that we felt so welcome... not as in being in someone's restaurant, but rather being in someone's home. So gracious, attentive, and FRIENDLY! For such a classy place, the true class shows in the attitudes of the stuff. THANK YOU BLUEHOUR!
- Pros: fantastic servers who made us feel truly welcome.
- Cons: the bread & butter are too good.
So Disappointed
by somesecert
I am not usually someone who complains about a restaurant or some one who actually sends their food back, but tonight I am that person.
We went out for date night at the BlueHour. It was a romantic setting but as for service and food I am very disappointed. Our server only talked to us twice, to get our drink order and our food order. My main entrée sat in front of me for 40 minutes and not once did some come by and ask if our food was good. Finally the manager came by and asked and he was very accommodating.
For a restaurant that is priced as it is and brings the clientele in that it does, I expected rich tasting food (instead of bland) and quality service instead of being ignored.
- Pros: Atmosphere
- Cons: Bland food-bad service
Brunch
by bnp50
I go to brunch with friends every Sunday. We have our favorite spots, but celebrating a birthday last Sunday we decided to make reservations at Bluehour. It was busy but not crazy. It was unlike our other brunch spots mainly because it was calm and quiet. I'm used to waiters running around and other brunch goers trying to get my table after already waiting 30 minutes or more. Bluehour was the opposite of all that. It was relaxing. Waiters are respectful and let you take your time ordering. We sat at our table forever. It was definitely long and leisurely. It had all my favorites, pancakes, waffles, eggs benedict, bloody marys, etc. It is a pretty standard menu for being such a fancy place. Prices weren't bad. A little more expensive than your neighborhood joints, but then you don't feel like you are at your neighborhood joint. The food was satisfying and cooked well. I still will be going to my other crazy brunch spots but this is a nice alternative when I just want a quiet, no hassle place to go. Its made it on my list.
- Pros: Quiet and Relaxing
- Cons: Only one New York TImes in the house!
