This was such a pleasant surprise! Today was our first trip --- but not our last. We had a picnic lunch at another park (Powell Butte) and was very disappointed. So after lunch, when we wanted to enjoy a walk, we drove to Laurelhurst --- we heard about both from this web site.
Pros: Good Parking, Beautiful Scenery, Calm and Peaceful

I really enjoy walking through Laurelhurst park. I live right down the street and frequently use the park as a meeting place, for jogging, or just taking a good book down and laying in the grass under a big shady tree (which are abundant). The park is laid out in a way that makes for alot of private places to snuggle, or nap. The pond is also really neat. There are ducks, a goose, turtles complete with their own floaty log and squirrels all over that love to beg for peanuts. My only complaint is that there are alot of careless people throwing their trach into the pond. :(
Pros: Quiet, Private, Pond/ animals
Cons: Junkies/Bums, trash in pond
