Two fights in one night...cheesy decor. Frat crowd, went across the street to Muu-Muu's, had a much better time.

If the smell of this place doesnt make you want to leave the service and the people that drink there will. Filled with novice drinking jocks and it smells like a toilet mint.
Pros: none
Cons: takes up too much space on 21st street

Typical bar. Not trendy, not a dive. Just a good place to go for some drinks with friends. The drinks are reasonable, and service is pretty good. I've found that the service on the south side, is much better than the service on the north side. Not sure why that would be, but it's always been the case.

Great place to start off your night of bar hopping. Great staff: frinedly, helpful with drink ideas or thoughts, not too pushy or bothersome while enjoys time with your friends. Awesome happy hour menu and a drink list that never ends. Lots of off the wall drink combos that sound odd but are actually really good. Food is great and never takes long to be served. Not too expensive either. Low key enough to talk or with friends.
Pros: Decore, Happy Hour Food and Drink, Service
Cons: Parking, but hey, it's Portland!

The happy hour menu just can't be beat. You can get fries with ranch AND a cheese quesadilla for two bucks each. It ends at 6:30 but our waitress put the order in for us even though we came right at 6:30. She was a super star, attentive and joked with us a bit. The food was excellent and on friday's the music is just 90's top hits and whatnot. Much better than the hip hop filled saturdays (unless that's your thing). Gotta love the fishbowl party drinks as well! I giant AMF with plastic monkeys and mermaids decorating the blue drink was just fabulous! (they are a bit spendy but that doesn't take away from the fun of sippin on one with your buds and super long straws)
Pros: great service, excellent happy hour!, outdoor seating
Cons: NONE!

Odd drink special turned out to be something fairly yummy, and worth a try. Good mac and cheese, although a bit stringy. I'd stay on the bar side rather than the restaurant side if given the choice. Our waitress was super nice and just attentive enough not to be annoying. Definately worth a try on 21st.
Pros: Great service, specials
Cons: Empty on a Saturday night

boring place on Wednesday nights. Terrible service. Don't waste your time here, it is not worth it.

My girlfriends and I have a standing date at the Gypsy every other week. Zac is the best bartender in town!! There's always a drink in front of us as soon as we sit down. He checks in with us regularly, keeps a full beer in our hands and is super friendly!!! Thanks Zac - you're the best:).

The Gypsy is great! A happening place to meet, start out the night or make it a destination. The food is fantastic and the drinks ROCK! Great atmosphere, good service, I can't think of a better place to hang out. There's always something happening and it's always fun.
Pros: Atmosphere, Drinks, food
