I am shocked by the high ratings for this restaurant! We had reservations, but had to wait a long time to be seated from a disappearing hostess. Although our order was taken promptly, it was over an hour before our first course appeared- an oversalted tofu and spinach soup followed by another 45 minute wait for the main course. The other dishes were greasy and not special. I wouldn't recommend it for romance as it was hard to have a conversation because of all the noise carried from the tables crammed near us. Our waiter made himself so scarce that it was hard to get tea or even get the bill. We were very disappointed and will not return.
- Pros: decor
- Cons: expensive, tables too close, poor service

Excellent hot & sour soup. Excellent beef with snow peas. We have it delivered every Saturday by Delivered Dish. We've also been to the restaurant several times.
- Pros: Everything
- Cons: None
Horrible service!!

My family and I I went to have dinner and waited a half hour for a table. The service from Francis the Manager was horrible. He was rude and treated my family like crap. That would be the last time my family and I set foot into that restaurant.
- Cons: Rude, Bad Service, Food was cold

We moved to Portland from Boston three years ago. I am forever in search of good chinese food. We had a coupon and decided to give Sungari a try. The atmosphere was dissapointing to say the least. There was an inch between each table. I could hear the people breathing next to me. The bathrooms downstairs reminded me of junior high. However my husband and I thought the food was excellent. The honey shrimp was sooo good although the portion was a small for the $'s. The spring rolls were excellent. Crisp, light not dry. The sesame beef was out of this world.
- Pros: food, not crowded
- Cons: atmosphere, spendy

Best Chinese food in Portland. Highly recommend the seseme beef and scallops in tangy sauce, and all other dishes are outstanding. If you want some very good tea, try the monkey-picked Ti Kwan Yin.
- Pros: Outstanding food
Wonderful DUCK

Walked in on the 14th of Febuary, late after having reservations and they were very kind and seated us immediatly. It wasn't hard to find either, (we were just dumb). But we ordered our food in a easy way, and got our regular tea, the DUCK was soo good, and so was the shrimp! I liked the little flowers on the tables in the water, that added a special touch, the lighting was just right and the place wasn't noisy. A nice atmosphere that makes you feel comfertable.
- Pros: price, food, atmosphere
- Cons: parking

Sungari a five star Chinese restaraunt? you have got to be kidding. All the 10 ratings are from themselves! Overpriced WAAAYYY overpriced food with no appeal. Don't waste your hard earned money on food that can be optained at half the price. Good luck, you will be dissappointed.

Only one way to describe this:
Total Rip-Off! $12 drinks that didn't even measure a full shot? Food was great (by the way), but I was not prepared to pay $38+ per person for a meal I could have had most places for $24. There's no food worth the bitter taste this left in my mouth. We were the only ones in the restaurant, so it's no wonder they tried to milk us for all they had. Too bad, because if they lowered their prices and got a clue, this place could really be something special.
- Pros: good food, servers tried, good tea
- Cons: PRICE, expensive, drinks

Panda Express with an attitude and high price tag. This is the echelon of Portland Chinese food? I love the review about the "sample guy." The food is not terrible, just waaaayyyyy overpriced and un-original. Yes, save your money.
- Pros: price, vanilla food
