Great Selection of Indy Movies

by superturnip

This theater always has a great selection of indy movies and is in a great location. The theater itself is a little dated but the selection and location make up for it.

A good thater if...

by vnus_n_furs

It's an okay place to see movies if you don't mind seeing arthouse films in a contradictary dull mall-like setting with staff who need cinematic special ed. However the movies are generally good, the video and audio quality are excellent, and the downtown location makes it a convenient theater to go to. It's a tad expensive, though and since it's owned by Regal you have to sit through an excurciating amount of previews to get to your picture. I usually arrive there late, so I guess that compensates for the that.

  • Pros: Good Movies, Good Location, High Quality A/V
  • Cons: , WAY to many previews, Expensive

Excellent movie choices + Helpful staff

by cactusjuice

Fox Tower is a great place to see a moive because there is always an intelligent selction of movies playing and the staff is helpful and curteous. It's also easy to find downtow with lot of easy parking.

My movie tastes lean away from the big meglomania Hollywood fodder. The selection at Fox Tower bucks this trend with foreign films, documntaries and independent features. This theater is always my first choice. Oh, and one other thing--I love the small theater sizes!

  • Pros: Nice selection, Helpful staff, Easy to find

who could want more

by vj12100

I have never been to a theater with such friendly helpfull staff as well as a lively (un-invited?) mini-guitar player out front. The selection of smaller movies also adds to its appeal.

  • Pros: central location, great movie selection
  • Cons: little more expensive

The whole enchilada...

by erikadidit

As far as movie theaters go, this one is pretty good all around - comfortable seats, with arms that lift so you can snuggle, average ticket prices, although those in general are getting outrageous, and a good selection of movies for grown-ups - not so much of the garbage you find in other theaters.

  • Pros: average ticket prices, comfortable seats, good selection
  • Cons: horrible parking lot, across the street -, don't park there!!!!!

Great movies played by a terrible owner

by kirk2spock

The REgal Monopoly owns most theatres in Portland so expect high prices that keep getting higher. Fox Tower often sells out because of the smaller theatres. Typically they show the more "art-house" or foriegn films rather than big budget hollywood which is a nice change of pace. They theatre is still fairly new so if you get in, it is a pleasant experience.

  • Pros: Good Movies, Comfortable new seats
  • Cons: Expensive, Often Sold Out
