I AM A HALO FAN!
by simple01
Hands down, this is the shoe boutique of all! Nothing can compare! Halo carries the shoes that definitely adds the "WOW" factor to an outfit. From "cutting edge" brogues to "where'd you get those" boots to the "office" wo/man to the "lets go out" stilleto, you are sure to find a shoe that will be your next favorite. You will love all your Halo shoes. The owner really knows his clientele and it shows in each season's selection.
- Pros: Quaint Space. Unique shoes. Fabulous Antipast Socks. Awesome sales staff and owner!
- Cons: N/A
Love the shoes

Every year my good friend and I go to Halo so she can pick out her Birthday shoes, we always enjoy ourselves and find wonderful boots and shoes!
- Pros: brands you can't find elsewhere, great sales
- Cons: they run out of sizes
pdx ladies - pay attention

this shop is progressive not just in its purchasing but in its location as well. when considering that its location is not in a more traditional up-scale shopping destination, know that halo has been on broadway for years- consistently providing hard to find designers. i would go to halo wherever they were located. they are an independent shop and go seasonally to italy on buying trips only bringing back the lines that catch their eye. seriously, you are not going to get a shoe like the ones they offer anywhere else in portland. department stores may be easy but both you and i know the difference when you're wearing something from nordstrom or from halo.
- Pros: dries van noten, sigerson morrison, costume national
- Cons: that i don't make more money so that i can spend it here
Excellent Selection of Designer Shoes with Super Service
by shoegal73
I travel quite a bit for work and I traditionally do not buy my footwear in Portland. That is until I found HALO SHOES! The buying team does a wonderful job in selecting the best in Cydwoq, Costume National, and Dries Van Noten too name a few. I'm in heaven. Great service and true understanding of what customer service means - which is a missing art form in Portland. Keep up the great work HALO team!
- Pros: Great selection of the latest and greatest from design footwear
- Cons: Wish they also carried ready-to-wear! Would love to see the lines brought to Portland!
If "Sex and the City" was set in Portland, Carrie would satisfy her shoe fetish here.

In Short
This is the closest thing in Portland to a New York shoe boutique. Nestled between other stylish stores on Northeast Broadway, Halo has a sparse, yet warm, atmosphere and salespeople as beautiful as a new pair of Manolo Blahniks. Halo carries Siegerson Morrison, Giraudon and various small European lines, as well as a lovely selection of handbags. Unlike other high-end shoe boutiques in town, the store also carries men's lines.
a dream of a store

i no longer bother going anywhere else (or at least when i do i'm disappointed). Halo has shoes & bags that can't be found anywhere else in town from some of the best designers. The prices aren't cheap but that's beside the point. if you love fashion and shoes in particular Halo is your store. The atmosphere is dreamy and the salesgirls really know design/fashion & shoes.
- Pros: top designers, beautiful store, great salespeople
- Cons: expensive, more shoes, more shoes
Oh my God! Am I in Portland ?
by lolagirl
I travel quite a bit and usually buy my shoes in other cities. I recently discovered HALO and was pleasantly surprised with their selection. These are shoes you'd find in San Francisco, New York, and Paris! Portland has come a long way baby! Sales people were young, friendly and very laid back, but knew their shoes. This store rocks.
