Would never go back. The only reason why this place gets one star is because the girls at the front desk were helpful and did try to fix the situation. I went in on a Saturday afternoon to have my hair styled for my wedding reception. The man styling my hair was in a hurry to leave for the day and continued to talk about his chinchillas rather then listening to what I wanted done with my hair…
A very SLOW and painful experience. Wellllll, I go to the Aveda school here in Portland. I went to Dosha to get a brazilian a while ago and I would have to say, most people at my school give better brazilians than this woman. First of all, she was really quiet, and as you could imagine its kind of awkward laying but naked, spread eagle in front of a humorless person. I even tried to joke around and lighten the mood, but she just looked at me like I was a weirdo.... anyways, I'm not a shy person, I've gotten many brazilians before and have gotten very comfortable being bottomless in front of estheticians but this woman was the worst. Secondly, her techniques were very subpar. It took her 45 minutes!!! I've been in and out of waxing appointments in just 15 minutes with other waxers, this chick just didn't know what she was doing. Finally she finished the whole front part, and I was tired of laying there so I told her she didn't have to do the back. When I went downstairs I told the desk that she didn't do that back ( in school we learn if you do the back its a brazilian and it's automatically the brazillian price) the woman said, "Oh she didn't make any notes about it on your traveler" and I said "well I just thought I'de let you know, it should be cheaper since it's not a full brazilian." She then went upstairs and got the woman to come down and explain to me all the different types of bakini waxes as if I had no idea the difference between a bakini, french and brazilian.... whatever! I just shut my mouth and paid the brazilian price, didn't tip obviously. Well won't ever go back for a bakini wax.…
A Good Experience. I have visited Dosha 23rd and NW Glisan location several times. Always a good experience. Staff are always friendly. Only negative comment I could make is reservation system sucks. You can make a reservation and show up and it will be booked at another location; one you have never even been to. They are always good about squeezing you in, but you have to compromise on service because there is not enough time. I have even had reservationist repeat the information and still show up with no reservation. Other than reservations, I have never had a bad experience at Dosha on NW 23rd and Glisan. Also, be strong to say no to product pressure sales when you are checking out.…
Two Horrble Experiences.
I've been to two Dosha locations and had two of the worst spa experiences ever! Went for a massage and facial at the downtown location. They ran out of lockers so I had to carry my clothes, shoes,
and purse from the "waiting area" to the room. The esthetician would not add a last minute brow wax saying her "job is to do a facial". Seriously. Then she got the aromatherapy oil in my eyes. I was never informed of the steam room or showers so left with oil dripping through my hair. When I brought these issues to the attention of the young lady checking me out, all she said was "oh, that's too bad". Seriously. I asked to speak with a manager and was told there wasn't one there. I asked if a manager would call me and left my information. Never received a call. No apology from the receptionist, no apology from the esthetician, no apology from management. Seriously bad service, seriously bad customer care.
Then I tried the NW 23rd location hoping against hope that they'd be better and went in for a pedicure. Pedicure was OK but horrible, unfriendly customer care. The lady checking me out didn't say a word to me and held out her hand for payment. No thank you, no come back, no nothing...
I will NEVER go back to a Dosha. They need to learn how to treat their customers.…
Customer Service?. As a customer service manager by profession, I appreciate good service. This place has absolutely no customer service. I rated it a 1 because they didn't give me a zero as an option. Take my advice, stay away..Find somewhere else to spend your money. They shouldn't be able to treat people so rudely..…
Apalling. I have gotten several treatments now over the whole Dosha family of stores, including Hair, nails and massage. The staff was unhelpful, discourteous, focused on selling me a product. The chairs for your manicure and pedicure are uncomfortable at best and the nail tech was very inexperienced and awkward with my feet. I went into NW to have my hair done and I had to come back and have it fixed. There was literally a chunk of hair that they just "missed" that was longer than the rest. Dosha is just pretending to be a high end salon. They give Aveda a bad reputation. Do not go here if want a quality experience at a salon, you are wasting your precious time and money.…
Warning: extremely bad customer service. Don't waste your time at Dosha. Poor service and loud sales people who interrupt what should be a soothing spa experience. The unethical sales staff and management will not accept a product return.
WARNING: They willl NEVER give you your MONEY BACK!!. I have been using a massage therapist there for years and she is great but there return policy/ service was AWFUL! So BAD!! I purchased an inexpensive item as a gift and asked to return it the next day unopened, they said they would only give in store credit because that was their policy although it was not on my receipt, posted in store, told to me, or on the website. Poorly trained management and misleading website... These people have a thing or two to learn about people in Portland...…
waste of money, unqualified staff. I had my wedding hair done here which was the simplest thing, a low bun that i could probably have done at home. I figured its my wedding so lets get it done by a professional. It looked very plain and had no volume like i asked for. Within 30 minutes of getting home (much before ceremony even started) it started completely falling apart. I didnt even have dancing at my wedding since we just had a dinner afterward, but still by the end of the night my hair was pretty much just down and all the pins falling off. How basic is a bun?? They are totally unqualified.…
The most relaxing haircut of my life!. I heard a lot about the Dosha Northwest location, so I thought I'd check it out.. It was time for a haircut, so I made an appointment with a Junior Stylist. Then brought me upstairs and I waited for just 2 minutes max and was greeted by a very upbeat, polite and talented stylist... Her name was Laura. she told me she was new to the location and had just graduated from the Aveda Institute down the road. I was so amazed because my hair hasnt looked this good since I was in my prime (16ish)! We had a blast, and she gave me an excellent shoulder massage and hand massage, too! Thanks Dosha for a great experience, I'll definately be back to see Laura again!…
