The music was hip, and I enjoyed the food. I had a good time looking at the art. I thought that the sausage was too rubbery. Overall, it was a really good place. It was the best oatmeal that my dad ever had! I want to come back soon.

I've been to the Daily Cafe twice for dinner and I've been blown away by the food and the surprising combinations of the food. The last time a friend and I went on a Friday night and were puzzled as to why more people weren't dining there. For appetizers we had the tempura prawns which were done to perfection. It was served with an asian pear and cilantro salad which was quite tasty with the homemade mustard. We also had the beet and arugala with herbed ricotta. Yummy! For the main dish we ordered the linguini with clams. OMG!!! Seriously, it was definitely in the top five pasta dishes I've ever had in my life. The noodles were perfect and the pork, garlic, chili flakes, and butter made the best sauce. Ask for more bread--you'll need it. We also ordered the pork tenderloin. It had a nice flavor and wasn't chewy at all. For dessert we had the chocolate dessert which kind of tasted like a p o t de creme in a small tart. It was very cocoa-y without being too sweet. We also shared the pear tartlet with maple ice cream. Mmmm... The ice cream had a caramel quality. The wait staff was knowledgeable and very inviting and didn't rush us at all. The wine choice our server helped us with was spot on. I've also had breakfast at the Daily Cafe and it was equally delicious. Again, I'm not sure why dinner isn't more popular since it's really outstanding.

Pros: Price. Ingredient pairings. Inviting staff

I've eaten at the Daily Cafe at the Tram (portions are skimpy), and the one on Grand (service is slow) and this is by far the best. Great panini sandwiches, busy bustling atmosphere, friendly service. Highly recommend for an inexpensive breakfast, lunch or brunch.

If' you only go to Daily Cafe once in your lifetime, let it be on a Sunday. Daily Cafe serves an amazing, and filling Sunday brunch. Their brunch menu, which changes from week to week is always innovative and delicious. Brunch comes with some amazing pastries (their currant scones are to die for!), an appetizer, and a main course. Their weekday menu is good, too, but nothing can top the brunch.

Pros: Amazing Sunday brunch, innovative menu

i've never been to the daily for dinner, and i think lunch only once, but as most i know will agree, the sunday brunch is the main attraction. complete with a basket of wee, yummy, adorable little pastry, two courses of always-different and ever-amazing brunch dishes. the coffee is better than most breakfast places, and refilled constantly. the servers are really efficient and even with a party of 13 once, not a single order was goofed. it can be a little loud in there, though sitting under a sea of nelson lamps and the minimal, colorful atmosphere, is divine. while the volume can make conversation tricky, it's still one of the first places i take people visiting from out of town, and always to rave reviews. we generally do sunday brunch after a 7-9 mile hike/run in forest park, so we feel we've 'earned' it and can actually finish everything!

Pros: the food, of course

Cons: can be noisy, long waits not unusual at peak brunch times

I love the Daily Cafe. I wish I lived closer so I could go more often. Recently I had the two specials for lunch: a sandwich of roasted vegetables, hummus and lettuce, and the cauliflower soup. The portion size was perfect, and the service was lightning-quick--I had barely found a table before they were calling my name. The sandwich was a little on the plain side, but the soup was piping hot and surpringly light for what I assume was a cream base. I have also been for the prix fixe brunch menu, and it is Fab-u-lous. They have interesting, seasonal choices, and the breakfast sandwich I had with egg, bacon and some kind of delicious sauce was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had. Service is great, food is great. Daily Cafe is the best.

Pros: Great brunch and lunch, good variety, several veggie options

Cons: It's not close to my house!

As I work next-door, I eat at the Daily Cafe often. Not anymore. Today was the second time I was short-changed. Their prices have gone up and quality has gone down. A chicken ceasar salad is $8.50 and the dressing tastes like straight-up mayo.

And why Greek Salad in the winter? The Daily Cafe is a Food Alliance Member and can be found in the Chinook Book. They should use seasonal, local produce and stop serving "for here" drinks in wasteful plastic cups. Do this and I'd give them a 10 - the food is good.

A lunch at the"Daily Cafe" is part of our weekend routine. We love the porchetta panini and the choice of either a wonderful potato salad with whole grain mustard, or a Greek salad. Sadly, at our latest visit, another one of our favorites has left the menu. The first loss was the awesome Chocolate Decadent cookies (which were to die for,) that disappeared from the cookie plate a year ago. Now the potato salad has exited stage left. We're disappointed to see these two items leave the menu. They were true stand outs from other lunch menus around town. I just hope the Porchetta Paninis with the sweet pepper relish are here to stay.

Pros: Nice creative selection of lunch items, generous servings, attractively priced

Cons: Noisy, sometimes hard to find table on a busy weekend

I am trying to not eat so many sweets in the morning. And am in love with the breakfast Panini! It's one of my new addictions! I can even call ahead and order it. When I get there it's ready for me and I can order coffee and start my day! Thanks for being my daily cafe!

With its proximity to chichi lofts and offices, the inexpensive spot offers American fare for a see-and-be-seen lunch.  See the full editorial review.
