Fantastic food and service
by Chris2Mell
Best marinara sauce we've ever had. Lots of choices on the menu and everything is good. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Don't wait, go tonight.
- Pros: food, atmosphere, location
- Cons: can be spendy
Good food and cheap wine
by pdx926
Jopa is a nice restaurant for adults. It’s quiet, dimly lit and the service is always friendly. If you go, try the little personal pizzas – they are always delectable.
- Pros: 1/2 off wine on some nights, parking, quiet
- Cons: none
Everything here is delicious!

Jopa is amazing. My husband and I have been there several times and never had a negative experience with anything! Their steak is one of the best we've ever had. Their chicken entrees are deliciously moist. The butterscotch creme brulee was SO good! The appetizers are also good, especially the salmon skewers. They frequently have unique weekly specials that we order more often than not. On Tuesdays all wine is half off, making it more affordable to have a great night! We have always been seated right away when we come there, and the servers know their stuff! They make great recommendations and are real pros. The cocktails are made very well, try the Arrogant Gimlet if you are a gin fan. The only downside about this wonderful place is the price; I wish I could afford to go more often!
- Pros: Great food, half price wine on Tuesdays, nice service
- Cons: expensive
Awful Easter service
by mikeashland
Took the family for Easter brunch, arriving early when very few diners had arrived. Service was a struggle from beginning to end. Buffet food was lukewarm and bland.
Sad Easter meal for us.
- Pros: nicely decorated space
- Cons: bland food, careless service
I like this place

I like the wait staff, the ambience, the music. Nice space upstairs for private events. Great salmon skewers.
The one negative: the desserts. Not really my type of desserts.
- Pros: good service, plenty of parking
- Cons: none
Good admosphere, nice waitstaff, nice happy hour menu

Although, I didn't like their pizza, the person that gave them no pros sounded like the competition more than a customer. It's a good place to go to eat.
Oh so yummy!

My family and I absolutely love this place! This neighborhood joint has got it right. Their food is incredible, and because you loved it so much last time it's hard to get something different than what you enjoyed previously. But the creative specials never fail to impress me even more than my menu favorites, so try one when you go in. The service has never been anything but excellent, being attentive, knowledgable, and charismatic. One of the owners is also the Market Master of the large Beaverton Farmers' Market that happens just a few miles away, ensuring the variety of local, fresh, cruelty free food that is yet another factor that brings our family back to JoPa again and again. Portion sizes are great and they have the best lemon drop in town. Obviously we highly recommend Jopa for lunch, dinner, or catering. They do onsite or offsite catering that is professional and flexible (which you can explore on their website joparestaurant(dot)com). We have had a birthday party there and we just did a holiday party at home (before the snow came:) that both were loved. Classic great place to go!
- Pros: Awesome food, sweet service, off-street parking, house-made drinks
- Cons: None that we've seen!
I love this place!

I've been here several times with friends and co-workers, and even rented out their upstairs "party" room for a work function. Never, not once, have I had a bad experience. Great food, good prices, great service, good sized portions all add up to a great experience I would go back for again and again -- but not on Mondays -- they're closed Mondays!
- Pros: Consistently a great experience, good prices, GREAT food!
- Cons: Maybe a wait for a table at peak times
JOPA is FABULOUS!
by rmcrestwell
Jopa's food is ALWAYS great. We have been dining there off and on for years. If they had breakfast, we'd go, too.
Happy hour food is great and $2.95...can't go wrong.
THEY have HALF PRICE BOTTLES OF WINE on TUESDAYS! Yes, that's right, we were amazed when we ordered a bottle of wine and the server said, hey...you are going to get half off that. We weren't sure what she meant. Perhaps half off an entree? NO, the bottle of wine was half price!
Well, I am a loyal customer anyway, but now I want to tell everyone about this. In times like this, we all need to tighten our belts, but still want to enjoy an affordable meal out. And throw in a bottle of wine for half price..take the rest home, you just can't go wrong.
I should mention their food is really outstanding (as I said, we've been going for years). We have always received excellent, professional service and on a rare occasion (every restaurant has it happen): if the food was not right, they apologized and fixed it right away!
So, the moral of the story:
WINE BOTTLES HALF OFF with entrees TUESDAYS. Great food, too!
- Pros: Affordable very good food, great service, affordable WINE, especially Tuesdays
- Cons: water needs to be filtered, only 1 bathroom and hard to get into on weekends
VIVA JoPa!!!

I don't give out kudo's that arn't well deserved, but JoPa rightly deserves a platter of raves. We've been to this hidden treasure three times now and, with every visit we vow to return again as soon as possible. Why travel and fight parking in downtown P-town when there's this culinary delight right below Hillsdale? The ambiance of JoPa is unique, open and very comfortable. Everything we've had on the menu has been freshly superb to perfection. We've taken our kids there and, dined alone. My wife discovered JoPa when she attended a dinner conference in their upper floor meeting rooms. Their creative chef has crafted a menu that appeals to all tastes, flavors and moods. After dining at Jopa, I feel as if I've been to a different time and city, but it's still in Portland...and you owe yourself a visit.
- Pros: Great dining, extensive wine & beer list, cool building and ambiance, plenty of easy parking.
- Cons: Zip, nodda, nyet, none.
