PAUL R. is AWESOME

by carend

I have been getting my hair cut by Paul for 6 years and he never disappoints. I usually give a general description of what I want and it always turns out great. He uses the razor on my pin-straight Asian hair and it looks awesome every time.

Monica She is the Best!!!

by Johnk6699

I received the most amazing hair cut from Monica. This sophisticated European girl is not just a hair stylist but a truly amazing hair artist. I have learned that she used to live in Paris and she learned her skills working at high-end hair salon in Paris for several years. Monica is so down-to-earth, polite and attentive and each time I see her, I genuinely felt that she cared about me. She really made me feel special. I truly believe that she is one of the few stylists out there that can just look at you and knows exactly what style looks good on you. She will listen to how you want your hair done but if you really want a fantastic work done on your hair, don’t be afraid, let her do her work and prepare to be surprised!!!

NYC girl gives review: Great cut, great vibe!!

by HopeNYCinPDX

Love this salon. Love the staff. Repeat: LOVE THE STAFF! Sheila Rae at the front desk; awesome, knowledgeable, never loses her cool. Knows who I am the moment I walk in the door. Thank you, Sheila Rae for this. It's the first impression that gets me every time, and she got me, hook line and sinker.

All of the assistants are considerate, talented, hardworking, and they too remember who I am when I walk through the door. Man they are good!

So, I was referred to Paul by a co-worker who knows how particular I am about my hair (as most of you reading this are). I have long, thick hair, and like to keep it that way. I am not into having a hairdresser talk me into cutting my length off "just because" (you long haired girls know what I am talking about!).

I moved to Portland a year ago from NYC, and honestly was nervous about finding a good hairdresser. However, upon meeting Paul my nerves were immediately put at ease. Not only did he listen to me, and suggest the right cut for my face and frame, he is extremely talented at his craft. He consistently gives me a great cut, including most recently my newly added bangs (which I LOVE)!! Note: complimentary

Paul is thorough and efficient. And did I mention how cool he is? You can definitely anticipate a great conversation while in his chair. I actually find myself wishing I could stay and hang out after my haircut!

If you're in search of a new salon, go to Fada, and ask to see Paul!! You will not be disappointed!

  • Pros: Unpretentious and great hair delivered!
  • Cons: I have to leave after my appointment!

Fantastic Hairstylists

by ireallycantthinkofaname

I saw Fada's beautiful hair styling work at a charity event, the stylists donated their time and skills to a Dress for Success fashion show (and also donated products and a gift certificate as door prizes). I got a card and then made an appointment and saw Monica. Monica knew more about my hair than I did, instantaneously! I was getting several inches cut off, to donate, and Monica was familiar with the process and had done hair donations before. Monica then took time to study my face and came up with a terrific hair style, easy to wash and go or do up pretty, and one that would look good as my hair grows out again. I was thrilled with the result, and now several weeks later am still thrilled with the result. Monica was terrific, and I will be going back to her for sure. I'm sure all the stylists are terrific because I saw their work at the charity event.

Fada Salon

by suckermom

If you want a great cut and great customer service then Fada Salon in the place to be. The service begins when you step into the salon. The staff is personable and friendly and make a connection right away. Even when I just go to the salon to get hair product, they remember me by name without looking it up on the computer. My daughter goes to the salon before special occasions and they always make sure that her hair and make-up match the type of dress she will be wearing. As for the hair stylists, I trust them completely. There are times that I know exactly what type of cut I want and other times I tell them I need a change and to "have their way with me." They have never failed to send my on my way looking stunning. When the style is new they spend time teaching me what products to use, how to use them and what I need to do to repeat the style so that I continue to look great even after a couple of months. This is a top of the line salon, I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Beautiful surroundings and style to boot...

by Lur

I recently went to Fada's new location for a hair style after growing my hair out for 3 years. I went with a desire to get a great style that was contemporary, low-maintenance, and smashing. I got what I paid for! The service was fantastic and the staff listened to what I wanted. I got a great color job, a wonderful cut from Danielle, and came out looking 10 years younger (according to my daughter and co-workers). They even donated my surplus hair to Locks of Love for me. The location was great--on Broadway just a block down from Pioneer Courthouse Square and Nordstroms's in the Charles F. Berg Building. The new salon design was chic. The best thing: I can maintain my hair without a lot of effort and I have many options for styles. Frankly, I don't like to spend a lot of time on my hair--or a lot of products. But this cut allows me to be fussy or not. I would recommend Fada to anyone. I received a style that was just what I wanted. I would definately go back and trust them again.

Get The Royal Treatment and a Great Value!!!

by richnutmeg

From the time I walked off of the elevator onto the fourth floor of the Charles F. Berg Building, I knew I was in the hands of a team of stylists that take their work and their quality of service seriously. Owned by Portland styling mavens Fahti and Danielle, this salon feels light, open, airy and comfortable.

Front desk service was cordial and competent. The capable and sweet head receptionist, Sarah, did not need to peek at the calendar to guess my name correctly. I was outfitted with a custom-made gown and a drink before I knew it.

Once settled, Nicole's color service included a comprehensive interview, and the result showed that she had both listened closely to my wishes, and that she had the ability to create something over and above expectation.

My experience was finished off with a cut by Danielle, who seems to do her best work when she gets lost in the task. Shears flying, Danielle created a look and a shape that is comfortable, versatile, and looks great, even while growing out.

Overall, I found the entire staff to be warm and personable. My cut and color are almost two months old, and I can still work with it. While the prices weren't the lowest around, it is certainly a good value, as I would have had to go in for a second service by now if it wasn't for the capable work of the Fada ownership and staff. That is the true test of good hair service, and they passed with flying colors (and cuts)!!!

Not anything you couldn't get anywhere else

by ramc992

First things first, the customer service was pushy more than anything, you can only hear "my pleasure" so many times in one sitting before you want to rip your hair out before it's even done. I previously had a makeup trial with the old makeup artist, which I was very happy with, and when I came back for the day of, they informed me she was no longer there, and I was completely disgusted and unsatisfied with the woman who did my makeup for the day of, she was HORRIBLE. They also had an apprentice running around who looked like she was on something and hadn't slept in weeks. I would rather go somewhere with better communication, employees who are sober, and services worth my time and money.

Only if you like spending all day waiting

by Maven89

I waited over an hour past my appointment time and paid $85 for a haircut that was no better than any I could have gotten anyplace else. The owner, who cut my hair, was totally unapologetic and barely said two words during my service. When she did talk, it was to order her poor, frazzled assistant around. There's much better out there.

  • Pros: Extremely nice front desk person (the tattooed one)
  • Cons: parking, waiting, waiting, high prices
