Last week I had the pleasure of getting a highly pampering pedicure from Jennifer. She was extremely professional and made my experience completely enjoyable. I didnt feel rushed and she even helped me select just the right color. I have had many pedicures and none compare, she knew exactly the right temperature the water should be, the right places to rub my feet and legs. She was gentle and tender with her touch on my feet and I left feeling refreshed and rejuvinated. I was amazed at how speedy and pain free it was, as my feet are pretty sensitive. She made this a wonderful lunch break for me. Ill definately see Jennifer again very soon :)

I bought my future sister in law a gift certificate for a shower gift and her and I went together for manicures and pedicures. I am in the beauty industry so I have high expectations of proffesionalism etc. The girl that gave me a pedicure talked the ENTIRE time, asking me every question she could think of. I just wanted to relax and enjoy. The worst part is the fact that she wore protective gloves while giving me a pedicure. That is weird and very unpersonable. I will not go back and will not reccommend it to any one who might ask me where to go. Also the paint job chipped within a few days.

I am writing this review now that I've experienced what a true relaxing, beautiful facial is. I went to Skin Deep and Beyond with some girl friends to get a massage a couple years ago and LOVED my massage. A while ago I remembered my good experience and decided to get a facial. This was a HUGE mistake. The girl that did it, LeeAnn I think, was overly chatty and hurried through the whole process in a mechanical way. When I got home my skin was red for days afterwards despite being assured that all products were ok for sensitive skin. I left thinking that facials were just not for me until I was having problems with my skin and decided to try it again. This time I citysearched facials and relied on good responses not just good past personal experience. My new place was so amazing i bought a package of six i was so excited to feel the difference in my skin. My massage here was AMAZING! my facial was a WASTE of money that I wish I would have spent on a massage instead!
Pros: massages left me wanting more
Cons: facials made me never come back

I bought a gift certificate for my girlfriend and she loved it!!!! She said it was the best spa treatment she's had in years. She said the owner Cindy was there and very professional when she found out it was her first time. Looks like i'll be buying another gift cert. for Christmas.
Pros: friendly and professional

I've been to several places in the Portland metro area looking for a good waxer (having moved her from california) I happened to come across Skin Deep & Beyond when friend told me about this little gem tucked away in Tualatin, I called and said I needed a Brazilian but wanted someone "good"... of course I got the answer I ALWAYS get... "no problem we'll set you up with the perfect person" WELL.... I walked in & Mindy was standing there waiting for me, gave me a big smile, introduced herself and said let's get started! We walked back to a private room where she promptly made me feel very comfortable, relaxed and at ease! She's also very funny and makes the fact that you're laying there n*ked from the waist down seem like it's no big deal. She said I'll be as fast as I can, it will hurt but it'll be over before you know it. Less than 20 minutes later ( seriously I think it was like 12-15 minutes max) I was DONE! and I mean thoroughly done! Mindy was the BEST most thorough waxer I have ever had and believe me I've been to many people. Oh and the price was only $55 ! Where in PDX can you get a Brazilian for $55?? Even with tip it's cheaper than most places charge. So even if it's a little out of your way believe me it's worth the trip, be sure to ask for Mindy. oh and the spa is great , very relaxing, friendly staff and plenty of parking.
Pros: Mindy / Reasonable prices!
Cons: none

I just had the best massage of my life!!! I was booked for a one hour swedish massage and when I showed up the masseuse asked me if I would like to try ashiatsu. She explained she would be using her feet and that she could get better pressure with them. Sure, I said. ( i was a little skeptical about enjoyong it, but i figured what the heck.) Well, let me tell you, I've never felt so good! She didn't walk on my back like I thought, it was slow and glidey, just like a regualar massage, but deeper and not poke-y or uncomfortable. I am so hooked. I am also going to send my husband over there so he can try it out.
Pros: best massage
Cons: none that I can think of....

My first massage was wonderful, the second okay. I wish I could remember the first LMT's name. The atmosphere is perfect. My second massage wasn't as pleasant, she wanted to talk and I do that everyday, all day long. Anyway, the LMT who was incredible is blond and on the shorter side.
Pros: Short, blond LMT
Cons: talky other LMT

I am so disappointed. I had saved up to go get pampered, and spent a lot of time juggling my time and babysitters so I could schedule a 2 hour treatment. The start time was supposed to be 12:30 with a promised completion by 3:00PM. Remember, this is suppposed to be a relaxing experience...After waiting a bit for my first piece, the pedicure, was told it would be an express and wouldn't receive the full benefits of normal peddy (hardly any massage, etc.), I was disappointed, but ah well. Then I waited and waited and waited. Half hour goes by and I realize there is no way possible I'll get my entire treatment done in the needed time. Remember, this is supposed to be a relaxing experience...and if you're like me, you just saved up all your lunch money for the next three months so you can squeeze out every last minute on the massage table. So it looks like I'll have to either reschedule part of the remainder, or get short changed on the remaining two treatments. More waiting while the receptionist finds out what's taking so long...remember, this is supposed to be relaxing...finally, I say I'll just pay for the peddy. I spent $30 on an express pedicure that was nowhere near worth it. (The pedicurist was nice, by the way.) I would never spend $30 on a pedicure where I can't enjoy a foot massage as part of it. The whole experience was just such a BUMMER. Good luck to you. I will never go back.

I have been going here for the last two years, mostly for massages, and I love it. The greatest part about this place is they work around your schedule. I like having massages in the morning but if they cannot schedule me for that time, they make a note and if someone cancels they give me a call. I always leave this place relaxed and ready for the rest of the day! I have referred, and gotten gift certificates for friends and family, and they too love this place.
Pros: Friendly Staff, Wonderful Atmosphere, Excellent price
