I am not hiding my name in this review because I stand by my words. Before my daughter was a student at Parkside she attended Kindercare in Vancouver. While Kindercare is not a horrible place, I never felt like my family belonged there. After a particularly long day at work I realized my daughter seemed to always have a dirty face when we picked her up. So I thought about changing daycares and called Parkside to see if they would take her. I talked with Connie, the director, and she told me she would contact the state licensing board to make sure she could take my daughter since my daughter was only 10 months old at the time and they were licensed for children at least one year of age. I got a call back within a few hours and I was told the state permitted Connie to take my daughter. I immediately wrote a 'resignation' letter to Kindercare and we started at Parkside within two weeks. I have never felt my child is uncared for or neglected at Parkside. I can always call Connie or the teachers and talk to them about my fears or concerns and they listen to the ravings of a paranoid mother. I have consistently found the center to be clean and organized. The teachers have done an excellent job of teaching my daughter things I never would have thought of in a million years. As to the negative comments that have been posted about Parkside I say this - everyone has an opinion and not all opinions are based in facts. I will not say Parkside is perfect because no daycare is. But they are the daycare that I have found to be the closest to perfect in Clark County. And I do not have to worry about my child coming home with a colorful vocabulary or a hateful heart!
Pros: They love children!

I had a very hard time choosing a childcare provider with the Camas area. All of the centers I looked at were dirty, understaffed, unorganized and not one center had a properly funded educational program. When I looked at Yeah Wees (in Washougal) the attendant talked to me for about 15 minutes while leaving several children strapped into seats at a table and not one of those babies (it was the infant room!!) had any food or toys in front of them and at least one had a poopy diaper. I left that center thinking "I can't do this, how am I supposed to go to work and leave my kids in a place like this?!" When I looked at Parkside I was hopeful, but nervous to hear of the rates as it was absolutely the cleanest center I have seen. When I discovered that for just $615 per month my son could attend this beautiful, well staffed, educationally focused, local, newly remodeled center, we were excited! We love it at Parkside. The teachers all know the kids and what they are into, what they need to be learning, etc. They are open, honest, somewhat strict, and consistant; exactly what our son needs. My son comes home every day with some new thing he has made, learned, discovered, or discussed with his teachers at daycare. At Christmas we were amazed to hear him tell us "Mom, my favorite teacher is Miss Kayla. She said she loves all the kids with her WHOLE heart. Not just a little bit of her heart, Mom but ALL OF IT!" Just one small example of the great things we have heard about Parkside from who matters most - the kids. The kids are happy at drop off and pick up. Also, there are great family events that Parkside puts on for all of the families including a weekly dinner that all families are invited to. We love Parkside Christian Daycare Center. If anyone has anything negative to say about this center I can already tell you it isn't a parent of a child who has or does attend Parkside Christian Daycare Center.
Pros: CLEAN, ORGANIZED, EDUCATIONAL, FUN, WHOLESOME
Cons: THE NEIGHBOR WHO LIED TO THE CITY - TRYING TO CLOSE THE CENTER TO ALL.

i would like to take a moment to respond to the negative comments about Parkside. I have worked there for almost two years now and I have never had a problem with any staff nor have I seen any staff members abusing or negcleting any of the children. The staff members are educated in their field and often spend their free time going to workshops, attending classes, or doing classes online. I am blessed to be able to bring my child to work with me there and I feel very secure about the care he recieves there. The teachers at Parkside are devoted to the children and with providing the best care for them. We have had nothing but high reviews from our state certifier and we strive everyday to make this daycare the best that it can be. Our director works hard to make sure that the children, staff, and families are happy. I would recommend Parkside to everyone.

I love this center. I found out about it from a referral from a friend who chose Parkside also. Parkside stays full to the top without any advertising due to high quality care. I did alot of looking and investigating and chose Parkside for its excellent reputation. Loving staff and a very cozy atmosphere. Center is very clean and safe and has nice new play equipment and instructional materials. I love the seasonal programs and they have open houses throughout the year so you can meet other parents and get to know the kids your child plays with. Parkside had added a number pad security system that only parents can access which is a great peace of mind for me. I love the location and the fenced and shaded playground. All in all I am very happy- never worry about my children during the day. I have referred several people who also are very happy. Only con is a waiting list- tour and get on the list asap- it moves at an OK pace- thanks

I also use to work there and thought it would be a great place to work. To be honest looks can be decieving. It was NOT clean, organized, and most of the staff didn't seem to like children. One particular lady bad mouthed a child because he cried all the time(it was the most meanest comment I have ever heard) she also bad mouthed parents. People told the director what was going on and the lady got promoted the next day. The lady didn't do much but take care of her SON, she was not friendly. The teachers would leave to go outside and forget children and left them inside. I will never forget this center for all the mess i went through. I am not sorry about the review as a parent I would want to know exactly what was going on to leave my child in a center like this.
Pros: there were non
Cons: everything

so i used to work for this daycare facility and to be completely honest i thought the same thing as everyone else. my children too went there. good food, nice teaching staff, clean, friendly......until i worked there for a few. there were things done that i would not want to see done at any daycare where my children attended. there was only a few teacher that went by guidelines and seemed to care for the children, none of whom i will name. there is none actually there to greet you when you would come inside during oporating hours. hardly ever answer phones, children were not supervised that great meaning there was several children that got out the front doors and no one noticed, no security anyone can just walk in......... this is not a place that i would want my children to go to. sorry to those of you that i have offended but i needed to speak my piece....
