Sadly, Closed

I went to Palomino's for the first time to try out their happy hour menu last week and found that they closed their doors on August 24th. :(
Good Food, Slow Service
by GrayGhost
The food is always good at Palomino . . . . but make sure you have carved out a few hours to get it. The kitchen is terribly slow. We even overheard people at other tables around us complain to their waitresses and the manager about how they had been waiting over 45 minutes for their food. Even the bread took about 25 minutes to come to the tables! The waitress would offer to refill our drinks and then she'd pass by our table another 4 or 5 times and finally bring refills 10 minutes later. It's a pretty odd experience - not what you'd expect for a restaurant of this type. I can't justify going back again for the food to put up with the long wait to get it. Go next door to Oba . . . fabulous food AND fabulous service!
- Pros: Good Happy Hour Menu, Nice Salads
- Cons: Kitchen is slow, service is unattentive
Go the extra mile for this Vegan
by ilanaoaktree
We highly recommend Manzana's in Lake Oswego, However, I must say we almost always avoid popular restaurants during peak hours. The severs and chefs have always gone the extra mile for this vegan. Their roasted artichokes are fabulous, as well as their portobello mushroom. My husband and grandson enjoy their steaks and our daughter the choice of mexican inspired food.
We eat there weekly.
Extremely Week Drinks, Horrible Service on Patio
by geoweb
I agree with the previous reviewer on the extremely weak drinks. I wonder if they have several layers of management not knowing the others are watering! I am in sales, and I have taken clients out to eat for the last 25 years. I have never complained about service because it kind of ruins your night. I just go somewhere else. The service I received on the patio was the worst I have ever received in my life, so congrats Manazanas, I am writing about it. Asking for things four and five times with long waits in between. Getting the bill before some of the food! Outrageous really. I spend $15k to 20K in restaurants a year, mostly in Lake Oswego. I really thought I was being Punked. i was waiting for Ashton to come out from behind a post. I was ashamed for the manager it was so bad.
Great food, nice environment, friendly staff, weak drinks.

My wife and I enjoyed appetizers of calamari and seared tuna thne we split a wild salmon dinner. All were prepared very well. The service was very good as were the surroundings. The drinks were flavorful, but very weak. We had a long island ice tea, a mint julep, and 2 different margaritas. All were made with fresh ingredients (mint, limes, etc.) just no alcohol.
I will certainly eat here again but will go elsewhere for my $9 drinks.
- Pros: food, service, surrounds
- Cons: weak drinks
Service is great in the bar
by topmagpdx
Manzana is a great place to stop off for happy hour. Most of the servers in the bar are attentive and kind. They show attention to detail and the service is quick. The artichoke is very good!!
- Pros: Great service
- Cons: Dining room service not as good

Celiacs should avoid this restaurant
by peppajac
Their Lemon Drop is marginal, wouldn't recommend ordering that to anyone who's a fan of the drink and knows a good Lemon Drop. My food was very good (enchilada stack), however my husband has Celiac and cannot have any gluten in his diet. The kitchen was unable to make anything without gluten, apparently using only premixed spices out of jar and the only option he was offered was to be served fish tacos without the spices. Which they did. No attempt to use any other spices to present a good meal that tasted good. Just bland fish. If you are Celiac, I would highly recommend a different restaurant, as pretty much everything on the menu has gluten in some form and they can't seem to make anything without it. Additionally, I did contact the restaurant regarding our experience, and haven't heard back in over a week.
- Pros: Most foods seemed good that our friends had
- Cons: No gluten free options, uninspired Lemon Drop
Good for a quick bite
by shruts101
Went there with friends for a quick bite during happy hour, before heading to a play at the Armory. There is everything from crab cakes, crispy potato cakes and pasta, satisfying everyone's palate. Try the tomato-basil soup and the southwest salad - especially comforting on cold, wintery days. The happy hour is worth checking out.
- Pros: Happy Hour, Bloody Mary
- Cons: Extra seasoning was needed on some of the dishes
