My wife and I discovered this place by accident one night, looking for a spot to grab a beer before a movie. We have since gone back many times and taken a lot of friends from out of town here. When we found it, they weren't technically open yet but their door was unlocked so they invited us in for a beer until their kitchen opened and we were happy to oblige them. Their beer list is expansive and the staff is friendly, funny and knowledgeable. And the food is amazing. Huge portions and delicious. The blue lighting and darkened corners make for a great date spot.

Pros: Beer Selection, Ambience, Food, Romantic

Cons: Parking

I stumbled upon this place with my boyfriend and my cousen. What a nice surpise! We were looking for a place to get a lil tipsy before we went to the wonderland. The atmosphere was great and the bartenders were pleasant/ helpful even on a Saterday night. We had a miscomunication on a drink and they fixed the mishap without a rude comment or extra charge. I would go here again for sure! OH and the no smoking thing was awesome

Vegan Cheese not Vegan...Don;t trust the lasagna. I think the server was doing her best but stumbling on the lack of available menu items due to under inventory...I would not recommend eating here and the drinks are overpriced there are plenty of places nearby to get a :REAL" drink and no real cheese...sorry but if i order Vegan I want Vegan ..especially if you advertise it...Why overextend yoursleves so much on the menu? The Marinara was also a meat sauce...sheesh we Vegan/ Vegetarians know the diff...

#1) it is and always has been Vegan down to the noodle for the past 5 years! #2) we have never ever had our Red Sauce contain any meat. #3) you should stop reviewing restaurants because your clueless and this is a case when the customer is WRONG!

We went for music but must have been too early or it was not playing. Had antipasto and a ceaser salad both were good and not hard to m,ess up. Husband had the chicken parm not a big fan but was okay. Would go back to check out the jazz.

Pros: Service

Great customer service, great neighborhood bar. Love the beer and food menu. I love that when I come here they rush out my food (I'm visibly pregnant). I love that it's non-smoking during dinner. Everyone is really friendly and thoughtful. The atmosphere is great too.

Pros: Consistently great food and service

I was not aware that Belmont had turned into a runway....... because we were served luke warm airplane food. The service was excellent - then wine list was above average - but the food was terrible. The chicken parm was hard as a rock - and served with cold pasta and frozen veggis. Salt and pepper would have helped - but they dont even offer THAT on the table! Go for the music - NOT the food.

We celebrated my girlfriends 30th here the other night on a friends recommendation. With 18 people it was a large group. Chris, Tim, and Beth were fantastic! We started out with the appetizer platter and boy was it good, we especially liked the curry and coconut polenta, and there were raves about the spicy tomato soup. Friendly and attentive the staff executed a seamless transition from drinks to appetizers to dinner. The price and proportions were just right. The specials of manicotti and chicken parmesan were down the hatch in no time! We'll be back with our friends again soon!

Pros: Atmosphere, Service, Drink & Food Quality, Proportions.

Cons: Didn't get a chance to check out Blues club.

Okay, okay! I admit it. The reason why I was interested to visit this place is because it was feature on "Rachael Ray's Tasty Travels". It also didn't hurt that I appreciate jazz music. The restaurant was empty as me and my fellow OMSI Star Wars companion entered. The basement bar where the band was playing also saw one other table and one other couple. Pretty empty for a Thursday. The band was super enthusiastic and play with gusto. I tip my hat to them for playing with such passion even with such a small crowd. The food menu came and I was disappointed by the selection. I expected a little more choices. My companion ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and I had a really interesting ravioli dish, which was pink peppercorn ravioli stuffed with butternut squash, goat cheese, cranberries and almonds with caramelized onions and beets in a port reduction sauce. I chose that dish because it was feature on that episode and it sounded like the most unique thing on the menu. It was certainly unique in taste as well, but I found it too sweet for a entree. My companions spaghetti and meatballs were awesome thought. Love those huge meatballs! Yummy! The most impressive thing about the Blue Monk beside the band playing, was the extensive beer list! Talk about selection! They even had beers with up to 12% alcohol content. Most of their bottled beers were European styled beers. I had an awesome Brother Theolonius which had an 11% alcohol content. It was a strong dark ale and tasted great! Verdict: Go for the beer and music. Give the food a miss!

Pros: Good jazz band, extensive drinks menu

Cons: Limited food menu

We went to the amazing Shelly Rudolph show at the Blue Monk. The lower level music venue is amazing. Although there are an incredible number of beers to choose from... they are served at room temperature. Mixed drinks are poorly made - except for the Blue Monk. Our servers was polite and seemed pretty cool - but not super attentive. Overall the experience was positive - just don't get beer and stick with simple drinks like vodka tonic or something.

Pros: Music, Music, Music

Cons: Warm Beer
