Delicious Italian Food w/ LARGE portions!
by AnnaHutson
My second trip to Pastini was as successful as my first visit. I had previously visited their Bridgeport location and this trip to their NW locale was just as satisfying. The menu items and attentive service exceeded my expectations. As a Portland newbie, I’m thrilled to discover an Italian restaurant that has the perfect ambience for both a family dinner, a business lunch or drinks and cocktails with friends on the weekend. Pastini definitely has combined all of these attributes into one restaurant, and the best thing about it is their multiple locations all around PDX! Our business lunch with a group of 5 started off by sampling a little bit of everything on the menu. We tried the Roasted Garlic-Artichoke Spread with Bruschetta for our appetizer, and it was 100% garlicky-Italian goodness. The food that was served was as good as if we were visiting a fine dining establishment – but for LESS than half the price! The portions were large, and I ended up boxing half of my delicious Linguine Pesto Pollo entrée to-go, to take as leftovers for dinner. Pastini is definitely one of the best, most versatile Italian Bistros in Portland and I would highly recommend taking friends, family and out-of-town guests to enjoy the dining experience!
- Pros: fast service, ambience, tasty food, full bar, free parking,
- Cons: nothing - the restaurant is perfect!
Always reliable, tasty, hot, fast, and the best Gin and Tonic in town!
by myfri
My husband would rather eat here than anyplace in town. It's always great, great service, hot meals, quick, and the best Gin and Tonic in town!!! And under $40 each time! Always great!
- Pros: hot, quick, great service, make changes without hesitation, great value
- Cons: None!

Great Service. Great Food. Great Wine Selection. One of my favorite places to eat in Portland. Check it out.
Good for Lunch
by pixie29
Went here w/a girlfriend for lunch the other day, we both had salads and they were great. The quality of the chicken was really good and the for the price we paid, the size of the salads were great. You definitely get your money's worth. I have also been to the location on NE Broadway for dinner, and I felt the portions could have been larger (esp if you call ahead and pick it up). This isn't the greatest Italian you've ever had but it's not bad. Kind of a "fast food" Italian spot.
bad food

Lets start off by saying I gave this place two chances. Yes, it is cheap but the quality of the food is pretty low par. It feels like you are eating in some kind of generic Starbucks meets faux-Italian place....worse than Olive Garden. They didn't offer bread until I asked and the unfriendly waitress just pointed to the menu and said "that costs extra." I got the buccatini carne pasta or whatever and it was dry and had no flavor at all not to mention it came out in like 5 minutes (pre-made and then slopped in a bowl obviously). After we got our food the waitress disappeared and never refilled out water so we had to flag down the hostess to do that. If you are on a budget i'd say go to Pizzacato instead.
- Pros: cheap
- Cons: everything else
Love to order to go- Fast too!

I have been ordering lunch to go and it is excellent! They always make sure you have your silverware and fresh bread. I call it in before I walk over and it's always ready in 10-15 minutes. Reasonably priced too.

I have been to Pastini many times with coworkers, friends and we always had good experience. Prepare for some delays on work day lunch if you have big groups. Service and the good quality was always good.
- Pros: ambience, food, service
- Cons: sometimes delays with big groups
Spectacular food for a very low price!

What a great place. I was surprised how affordable it was despite it's location at the upscale Bridgeport Village. I was there with a large group of friends and we all ordered something different and tried eachothers food and everything was great. The best, hands down, was the seafood cannolli thing. (I think that is what is called) It was basically a manicotti noodles stuffed with halibut, scallops and crab...and strange combination but incredible!! The portions were on the larger side. The wait staff was quick, efficient and very kind.
Be prepared to wait on a weekend evening as they don't take reservations and it is quite small...and loud. Not a great place for kids as the standard seems to be like a lot of Italian restaurants to bring courses spaced apart. My only suggestion would be to increase their variety of craft beers....not all of us like wine.
- Pros: Great food, great staff, great price.
- Cons: Long wait in the evenings and no reservations allowed....minimal beer choices.
Good food, good price (for the most part)

I have gone there a few times for take out with my girlfriend. The value and the food has always been excellent except for their soups. The soup portions are very very very very small. Our take out order of soup didn't even fill the small container even though we got the "bowl" instead of the "cup." We were told that it's one ladle of soup for the cup, and 2 ladles for the bowl. I feel sorry for whomever gets the cup and thinks they accidently drained 2/3rds of it on the walk home. Everything else has been great so i can't fault them too much. Just realize that for the price, the soup portions are very very small. Being on 23rd though, it is pretty cheap for pretty good food. You won't be wowed by it, but for how much you're paying, it's really quite good.
- Pros: entrees, price
- Cons: value of soup
