Love this store!

good shoe selection, gorgeous jewely, awesome handbags, amazing sales items and a fun, helpful, friendly clerk. What more could one ask for? I'll be going back there for sure!
Great Boots, Great Service.....
by farwestgal
I had an extended layover at the PDX and took a flying trip to the Alberta neighborhood and my favorite shoe store. In an hour I returned to the airport with a new pair of boots on and PEDX shipped another pair home with my old shoes so I wouldn't have to carry them on the plane.
Can't ask for a better retail experience than that.....
Hat's off to the PEDX staff and management.
The BEST of everything!

I was recently visiting Portland and, as a shoe junkie, decided to stop in at PedX on Alberta to see what they had for men's shoes. As it happened, I liked just about every pair of men's shoes they had(unusual for me). So, with a lot of friendly help and guidance from the staff, I made my choice. Then, I decided just to look around at the rest of the offerings. Quality and unique items...each and every one. I will be back.

In Short
A hip shoe nook that's a welcome addition to NE Alberta's burgeoning fashion scene. The low-key vibe is a refreshing switch from some of the snooty boutiques around town. The bright space is filled with streamlined sneakers and sexy slingbacks sitting alongside each other, waiting for their rightful owners to snatch them up. Casual and comfortable are key; Rocket Dog, Kenneth Cole and Puma are typical names.
Fabulous finds!!!

Wow! Finally a sassy, snarky shoestore in Portland!!! I no longer have to jet to new york to be in fashion. Now I just pop in to pedx on Alberta to satisfy a shoe craving. And the sales on the upper level rock! I can buy more than one pair. But, most of all I like the way the sales gals seem down to earth and friendly. They don't pressure you or hover over you while you're shopping. pedx rocks!!!!
- Pros: artful interior, easy parking
Bad Customer Service
by goodgirlsfinishlast
I had a friend from out of town visiting over Labor Day weekend & she was ready to shop at some local Portland boutiques, so we walked Alberta Street. One stop was PedX because you know a girl needs shoes. Unfortunately, the service at PedX was non existent. I suppose the clerk was too busy with her knitting to get up & actually 'work' the sales floor or even greet us for that matter. This should have been the first indication to leave. My friend asked to try on a pair of boots and we continued to shop the store while we waited. The sales clerk neglected to let my friend know that she indeed had the boots in her size and that she had brought them out for her to try on. The clerk was completely disinterested in actually giving any customer service or attention to us as well as the other would be patrons in the store. My friend had to ask where the boots were, at which point the clerk, who barely moved an inch or produced any sense of care, indicated the boots were on the seating unit. That's when, my friend, who incidentally is in retail herself decided PedX could care less whether she spent her $200 there, so we left disappointed and wondering how a small business can afford to be run this way. It left me feeling a little embarrassed as I'd been telling my friend about the great stores in Portland. I won't be taking any other out of towners there after this experience. Portland may be a great city but bad customer service isn't cool. The plus side is that my friend found other stores with far superior customer service and dropped a load of money supporting other local businesses in Portland. So thank you to the rest of Portland for showing my friend that this town rocks.
- Pros: Good shoes
- Cons: No Customer service to be found, bad attitude

- Pros: Friendly, unique selection, lots of local wears
moatmd was on the rag

I'm really not sure why moatmd felt the need to be so negative about this fun store! Pedx recently moved just around the corner ,so it is actually on Alberta now in a rockin space. I have noticed they are carrying higher end stuff now- Camper, Lisa Nading...Whenever I go in, I leave feeling I have new friends-the owners and employees are super friendly and accomadating. No attitude here or pushy on commision sales people.Awesome bags and local jewelry-some really cute men's shoes, did I say awesome bags? It bothers me moatmd would negate the positive work this small newish store has done-support the locals! Go check it out!!!
- Pros: bright space, friendly service, funky neighborhood
Not all that
by moatmd
While this store seems to garner quite a bit of attention, i'm left unsure about it's attributes. Seems like a nice store, but nothing really that makes it to stand out from the crowd. Styles seemed to lack flare and my girlfriend and I thought there could be better elsewehere. The space was clean and nice, the art was a nice touch as well, but as far as a premier shoe store, some work needs to be done.
- Pros: Space, Art
- Cons: Location, fashions/styles
