My fiancé and I just met with Powers and noticed and had a really great experience. I read over the negative review posted below and noticed a number of things that didn't add up. Considering that we just met with Ben at the studio we wanted to clarify some of the comments made for your readers. Powers actually works with a team of partners, not necessarily contractors. They are all wedding only photographers that work with the studio so they can do what they do best and not spend so much time on business. We actually get to specifically pick our photographer after looking over as many images as we want. We then meet this person to make sure we really click; we were very impressed with how carefully Powers matches their clients with the best photographer. In the end the decision is totally ours but they really help. Their website is absolutely great. It explains the process very clearly. After reading the negative posting I actually went to their site and discovered that what was being said was not accurate. For example, the site says that proofs usually take 4-6 weeks, but this is an ESTIMATE, not a due date. It also goes onto explain why they might take longer. Powers puts so much time into the personal editing. Regarding their albums; Powers works with a professional design firm to insure that each album is unique. We also have the option of having the book designed in studio. They even sell their books at cost to keep the price down. I'm sure that every studio has had problems come up with a client or two but in this case is really seems like this client didn't read the majority of the information Powers provided them with. Their website explains everything! Laura and I had a great time with them and would at least highly recommend that you meet with them before making a judgment. We were referred by 5 of our friends and all of them had great things to say.

I was the first of my friends to get married in this area, and ended up picking Powers Studios at the bridal show. I got married 16 months ago, and I just received my album. The owners of the studio are nice enough people, but every part of the process is farmed out, and they do not take responsbility and follow up to make sure that the process goes smoothly. It was almost impossible to set up a first appointment. Once we did, it took quite some time for them to determine who our photographer would be (they work with several photographers, most of whom have other jobs apparently). Our photographer was very nice and did a great job - he was the best part of the experience. After our wedding, we were supposed to receive proofs in 4-6 weeks. Instead, it took many additional weeks to get proofs. Once we got the proofs, it was very difficult to acutually get any help in making the album. Also, we did not get a complete set of proofs as promised. Our "album designer" was some freelance person in Willsonville who took several weeks to get started on designing the album. Several problems arose, including him suggesting that the front picture of my album should be me and my cousin, apparently he could not tell who the groom was? It was all done by e-mail and mailings back and forth, there was no option to meet in person and discuss the album layout. After the album designer, the album was sent to someone else to be produced (another delay to the process). Needless to day, the whole process was overpriced and extremely frustrating. Since I got married, I have had other friends who got married and had their pictures posted on-line and proofs before they ever returned from their honeymoon! I would not recomment this studio.
Pros: Good quality finished product
Cons: Too many people involved - slow service

We have visited so many photographers and found so much of the same thing. Powers is fun and informative and not pushy. My fiance even had fun and is not interested in our photography! They worked with me on my budget and really seem to love what they do. The pictures came out beautiful and the album is so perfect for us. We so hard to find a company we enjoy and I really recommend checking these guys out. Jessica-
Pros: fun staff, great office, easy access
Cons: they work to hard!

Powers Studios photographed my wedding and they did a fantastic job. They stayed with us all day and we loved our pictures. Our proofs looked so great that we even framed some of them! Our albums are also very elegant and professional. Everyone in the office was fun and easy to work with and our photographers were very talented.
Pros: No travel fees, online viewing, beautiful albums

Finally, a photography studio that works with me, and puts me first. Powers Studios has been a pleasure to work with and has always taken care of me. Thanks!
